The Mules to play Hoxton Bar and Grill London w/ Micachu, Broadcast 2000 + Black Cab Sessions DJs

The Mules

The Mules play their first London show of 2008 - June 12th, at Hoxton Bar and Grill, London. Doors at 7:30pm with support from Micachu and Broadcast 2000 + Black Cab Sessions DJs!

"With singing drummer Ed Seed front and centre, The Mules burst into their hectic cabaret-punk racket, it is all tremendous fun; such superbly honed, off-kilter chops, and that laudable DIY spirit, put the Mules in a league of their own." - The Guardian

After their last sold out show with Sunset Rubdown, Hidden Fruit Music is proud to announce that their next show will feature a welcome return from The Mules. The London-based 5 piece have been holed up in one of the east end's filthiest rehearsal studios to write their follow up album to the highly acclaimed 2007 debut 'Save Your Face'.

Having recently signed to Domino Publishing, the band are now set to work with top producer Anthony Whiting (Eugene Mcguinness, M.I.A, Animal Collective) on their forthcoming album 'All of The Fun, None of The Fair', out at the end of this year.

In the meantime, The Mules return to the London stage for the first time this year to showcase this new material as well as the crowd pleasers that saw their 2007 'Pick Your Own' summer residency at The Big Chill House attract packed out crowds every Monday night.

Support comes from Micachu and The Shapes. Micachu is the moniker of major new talent, 21-year-old songwriter and producer Mica Levi. Despite her relative youth, Mica arrives as something of a Midas-touched, Renaissance artist: equally at home writing and producing stunning, experimental pop with the likes of Matthew Herbert, as MCing with friends in various grime collectives. Armed with just her beat up, half sized guitar and hidden beneath a mop of hair, Mica's understated appearance belies her startling musical prowess.

Kicking things off will be the excellent 3 piece, Broadcast 2000. Recently featured on the latest 'E-On' advert, these guys have hit the limelight with their charming mix of acoustic melodies, backed up by tight harmonies and sunny day songs. The Independent said of their recent debut show, "This is the start of something special."

DJ's will be supplied by the team behind The Black Cab Sessions, one of the internet's latest musical phenomenons.

Tickets are available from Ticket Web and cost £5 in advance.
