The hottest and most promising new artist from the West Country Dan Crisp brings his acoustic melodies and distinctive vocal harmonies to the public's attention by announcing his first official tour of the South West.
Bournemouth born Dan Crisp is an emerging new talent who will hit the music scene with a bang this year. Growing up in and around the South West area, the artist is attracting much industry attention. A guitarist since the age of 10 years old, Dan (25) has developed into a top class artist performing alongside none other than the fantastic Martin Barre - guitarist from rock band Jethro Tull.
With his raw acoustic sound, Dan is currently performing with his band made up of drummer Robin Guy (Pearl Drums) and bassist Alan Bray (Warwick Bass Guitars), combining to create an amazing three-piece sound.
As well as finishing the production of his new album 'Far From Here', which is due for release on August 20th, 2008 and features collaborations with Fairport Convention and The John Martyn Band, Dan is staying true to his roots by launching a tour of the South West on the same date. It kicks off in Exeter, before visiting Torquay, Wellington, St Ives, Sidmouth, Herefordshire and Exmouth.
Dan will also play a much awaited debut appearance at this year's Surfstock Festival. The 5000 capacity, two-day event has a line-up consisting of over 60 acts including The Gossip, Alphabeat and Jose Gonzalez who will perform across five areas at the fantastic venue. Located on the North Cornish coast it's perfect for keen surfers and is sure to have people flocking from across the country to enjoy the sunny Surfstock action.
Dan's festival set is on August 29th, 2008 at the Local Hero Stage, and he's already looking forward to seeing the audience's reaction to his new material. He said, "We've just put the finishing touches to the album and I'm really looking forward to playing the new stuff. It's my debut at a festival so it's a very exciting time in my career. I'm really looking forward to kicking off the tour and it's where I grew up so it means a lot to me."
