Neil Halstead’s new single “Queen Bee” is released on 29th September, 2008 and his new album ‘Oh! Mighty Engine’ is out on the 8th, on Brushfire Records.
Long time Neil Halstead fans would make an argument for him being the great undiscovered English song-writing talent of the last twenty years. Appropriate that a seminal shoegaze songwriter inspired by Nick Drake would keep a fuzzy profile below the mainstream radar, living a quiet surfer’s life in Cornwall.
With a generation of ‘nu-gazers’ like Deerhunter, Fennez and Atlas Sounds having discovered his back catalogue as the songwriter in Slowdive and a legacy of outstanding narcotised Americana in his Mojave 3 incarnation, he has entered his third phase as a solo artist.
Neil Halstead September 2008 tour dates:
22-September-08 Leeds Faversham
23-September-08 Wolverhampton Little Civic
24-September-08 London St giles in the fields
25-September-08 Manchester Sacred trinity church
26-September-08 Glasgow King Tuts - Dave McGeachen
