Unsigned multi-cultural band Envisage – debut release + West Ham
By bandweblogs on Sep 11, 2008 in Albums, Bands, New Releases, Press Releases | Tags: Envisage

‘What Tomorrow Might Mean’ is the debut release from boisterous, multi-cultural East End rockers Envisage. The band all hail from the London cultural melting pot with each of the five members from different ethnic backgrounds.
Their debut release, ‘What Tomorrow Might Mean’ will introduce the British public to a band that have long been firm favourite on the terraces of their beloved West Ham.
Tracks from the band are played over the PA system every time West Ham hammer the ball home and Envisage are a true reflection of the melting pot culture of modern London.
The band’s passion for their east-end home turf and their favourite team has won them many fans in their area and has seen them become local celebrities amongst the home crowd. Every goal is a double celebration for the boys as their team score and they win new fans.
The band is united by a love of no nonsense Rock and Roll and their sold-out gigs are a full-on lager-soaked riot harking back to the lad-rock heyday of 90’s Britpop.
So crank up your speakers and get ready for rock music that slaps some sense into the current indie music scene – because ‘What Tomorrow Might Mean’ is a swaggering statement of intent from a band steeped in Lock-Stock style cool.
The band are made up of Alan Read, Bradley King, Ali Shylon, Eric Stanley and John McDermot each from a different ethnic background, some of the guys even have roots in cultures not usually associated with music, let alone full-on British rock n roll.
Alan Read, 19, singer-songwriter was born in East London, to an English mother from Manchester. His mother came to London when she was 19 to work and Alan’s father is from the West Indies, Saint Vincent, to be precise, emigrating to England at the age of 16, he became a wood machinist.
Bradley King, 20, is the band’s other singer-songwriter and the lead guitarist, his parents are from Cyprus, Turkey. Bradley arrived here when he was just six years old and picked up the cockney accent right off the bat! His mother is a dressmaker, and his father a 10th Dan Karate instructor who has opened his own karate school in the East End.
Ali Shylon, 20, is the band’s drummer and was born in Britain. His mother is originally from Sierra Leone and came here when she was a young nurse to continue her medical career. Ali’s father is from Morocco and is a painter/decorator and also a musician.
Eric Stanley, 19, plays rhythm guitar. His parents are both from Kallar, South India, both are very religious and work hard running their family retail business. John McDermot, bass guitarist, age 20, is from Australia, from a family of farmers, his mother is Greek and his father Italian, he came over to London to look for a good band and to generally get wasted, something he does a little bit too well…
The boys all met at college, where they formed the band before dropping out to do what they do best, play Rock n Roll, drink beer and write great songs.
