Patrick Wolf announces album name change from ‘Battle’ to ‘The Bachelor’

Patrick Wolf’s fourth album was originally intended to be a double disc album entitled ‘Battle’, recorded in Battle, Hastings. The two CDs were titled, ‘The Bachelor’ (an album documenting a time in his life where he was travelling excessively, battling with the world around him, his self, his desire and tackling depression and bachelorhood) and ‘The Conqueror’ (an album documenting his current love affair and return to a place of happiness, compassion, stability, and domestic life).

Patrick has since decided to release both discs separately, so as not to overload people with too much information at one time. The albums will come together in 2010 as ‘Battle’.

On June 1, 2009 Patrick will release the first part of ‘Battle’. A fourteen song album called ‘The Bachelor’, featuring collaborations with Eliza Carthy, Thomas Bloch, Alec Empire, Matthew Herbert and Tilda Swinton.

‘The Bachelor’ will be released on Patrick’s new label Bloody Chamber Music, funded via Bandstocks.com – as previously reported.

Patrick will play a handful of live dates in March where he will preview new tracks along with past classics. A full UK tour will follow in May.
