It is a rare event when a new artist is discovered who truly has the power to captivate an audience, but this is exactly what is found within glamorous classical crossover songstress Diane di Stasio.
With a career spanning the globe, Diane di Stasio has appeared in such movies as "True Lies," worked with entertainment legends like Gene Kelly and had her music featured on both the small and silver screens. However, these accomplishments paled in comparison to the October 2008 announcement that di Stasio had been offered a major record and distribution deal and would soon be a featured artist for Universal Music and ShadowLand Music.
Di Stasio first came to the attention of these music industry giants during a performance on "Live in Studio C," a top-rated show on National Public Radio (NPR).
It was during the broadcast that Don Hart, orchestral arranger for artists like Martina McBride, and Grammy®-nominated record producer Billy Smiley, happened to be listening. In that brief moment, time seemed to stop in the room, leaving them in awe of the hypnotic voice traveling over the radio waves.
That single performance sparked a meeting in which ShadowLand Music and di Stasio would sign the contract that would lead to the creation of one of the most anticipated albums of 2009.
Through the unique combination of Hart's graceful string arrangements, Smiley's studio direction and Diane's pure vocal lines, the trio crafted a collection of songs that can only be described as a triomphe d'art.
"I am so excited to have the opportunity to share my music with fans across the globe. To me, this project is much more than simply creating an album. I want to take listeners on a journey, exploring both love and heartache through the unique sound I've created," said di Stasio.
'Vox Eterna,' Diane di Stasio's debut album, will be released nationwide in early 2009. The album will feature mesmerizing recreations of both Sting's "Fields of Gold" and Moody Blues' "Nights in White Satin," as well as several original tracks that are already catching the eye of the movie and television industries.
