Luke Bryan announces first headline tour

"Doin' My Thing Tour"
Launches October 30th in Jacksonville, Florida
Luke Bryan will launch his first headline tour, “Doin’ My Thing Tour,” on October 30, 2009 in Jacksonville, Florida with shows continuing through December 5.
Prior to the tour launch Bryan will release his sophomore album, 'Doin’ My Thing', on October 6. The tour is sponsored by Miller Lite and Republic Records duo Fast Ryde will open.
The kick-off city, venue and date was specifically chosen by Bryan as part of his love for college football as October 30 is the eve of the big SEC Georgia-Florida rivalry game in Jacksonville. Certainly, a not-to-miss game for this Georgia-native.
“Every performer dreams of the day you can take your own tour on the road,” says Bryan. “We just enjoy being out there, getting to know the fans and really working hard to make them have a good time.”
Bryan has honed his touring chops over the past several years since obtaining his record deal in 2007, performing over 350 shows. His seasoning progressed during touring stints as an opening act for Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, Dierks Bentley and Trace Adkins.
From media to venue owners, Bryan’s shows are a huge success.
“Bryan is a charismatic, personable performer with rural roots; plenty of bar-gig experience; a large bag of up-tempo tunes, most of them originals; and a sharp band that includes fiddle and steel guitar, so there is superstar potential.” - San Antonio Express-News
“I have seen Bryan’s live show a handful of times, and I can honestly say it is worth e-mailing all your friends to get them to bring him to your city.” - Chicago Tribune reviewer
“Whether it was the first time he played for us before he even had a song on the radio, or it's a highly anticipated sold out show now, Luke Bryan always rocks the house. He's got that kind of connection with the audience that you just can't teach. The crowd feeds off Luke's energy and accessibility, and it turns into a giant party!!” - Ed Warm, owner of Joe’s Bar in Chicago
