The Wildflowers release “Wilco The Sound” single

The Wildflowers love you too Wilco

The Wildflowers

Have you ever imagined a world where everyone could dance to the same beat? Where all your problems could be solved with a song?

According to their brand new single “Wilco The Sound”, Australian group The Wildflowers seem to believe that the world would be a whole lot better if everyone was dancing around to Wilco.

So, who are these Wildflowers then? And why Wilco?

Well, on vocals and guitar is Gerard Daley. He spent his 20’s fronting Melbourne rock group The Stuntcar Drivers, and over the years has established himself as a solo artist. Recently, Gerard felt the need for a band who understand. And that is where the other Wildflowers come in…

That’s Emilie Owen on the piano and vocals. She spent her youth co-fronting Melbourne cult favourites Luxedo and has been dying to get behind a keyboard and start singing some harmonies again.

And on the other guitar is Nick Drane. He has been honing his lead guitar skills for years playing along to his favourite metal albums, not to mention his time spent as the resident axe-god with rock and roll combo The Loaded Dogs.

Why Wilco? Because they rock!! And earlier this year they offered a sonic shoulder with their single “Wilco (the song)” – so The Wildflowers felt the need to return the love.

So unplug your iPods, crank up those speakers, and get moving to “Wilco The Sound”.

“Wilco The Sound” will be released online on 22 October 2009 via iTunes, eMusic, Amazon MP3 and all good online retailers.
