Attention all retro punk fans, here is something I found while looking through old Clash interviews online. As a self confessed Clash freak I always get over excited when coming across something I missed about the said band.
This interview is from the late seventies and you get to see the real Joe Strummer here. Honest and up front about himself, there is no one around in music these days with the openness that Mr. Strummer used to possess.
The interviewer, Tony Parsons, at the time was working for the NME and went on to write a number of best selling novels. He still appears on TV (recently on Celebrity Mastermind) and writes for the Daily Mirror newspaper.
So come on all you new musicians, watch this man and get inspired!! Remember all you need is three chords and a message and you're away.
