Robert Rodriguez, critically acclaimed director of Sin City, Grindhouse and From Dusk Till Dawn found time in between the production of his latest films Machete and Predators to shoot a music video for Austin-based musician Bob Schneider's new single, "40 Dogs (Like Romeo and Juliet)."

The video, which features actress Kat Dennings (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist) in the lead female role playing opposite Bob Schneider is an ironic romantic encounter between two people who represent different lifestyles, described simply as digital and analog.

"I had Bob come over to visit Troublemaker Studios and found out he didn't have a video for '40 Dogs'," said Robert Rodriguez. "I love the song, so I put together an idea and am very excited with how the video is turning out."

The video was shot on location in Austin and features many of the city's points of interests such as Zilker Park, Auditorium Shores, Antone's Nightclub, Hotel Saint Cecilia and other local dives.

Production is expected to be completed in a couple of weeks. Plans for the video's release are forthcoming.

"40 Dogs (Like Romeo and Juliet)" has already received more radio airplay than any previous song that Schneider has released, logging over four months in the Top 20 on the Mediabase Triple A Radio chart. The song is currently being promoted on the Hot AC radio format and is in rotation on stations across the country.

Schneider is currently on the road in support of his latest release, Lovely Creatures, and will perform at Rachael Ray's Feedback Party at Stubb's Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, Texas during South by Southwest Music and Media Conference (SXSW) on March 20, 2010.

In addition, Schneider will embark on his first-ever European tour starting in April.
