Trentemøller Explores Uncharted Territory with Worldwide Release of Sophomore Album, Into the Great Wide Yonder
Copenhagen-based electronic artist and designer Anders Trentemøller has announced the worldwide release of his eagerly awaited second full-length album, Into The Great Wide Yonder, on his own label, In My Room, on June 7, 2010.

Into the Great Wide Yonder follows Trentemøller's outstanding previous works: his award-winning 2006 debut, The Last Resort, as well as multiple singles, EPs, and remixes, including double-album The Trentemøller Chronicles; and Harbour Boat Trips 01: Copenhagen, Trentemøller's first-ever mix CD.
A pioneer of fusing dark dub and electronica with accessible melodies, Trentemøller's past releases have demonstrated his remarkable gift for the dark, signature Scandinavian electro sound that have taken him around the world. He's performed at countless festivals, accompanied by his elaborate visual displays, including Roskilde Festival (performing to over 70,000 people), Glastonbury, Sonar, and many more.
Into the Great Wide Yonder is more than just a progression on the theme; it's a great leap forward. The album offers a wealth of brilliant melodies and musical ideas, and melds disparate and far-reaching sounds, rhythms, and genres. It uses many different instruments including electronic and acoustic guitars, strings, theremin, a bass mandolin and electronics with a playful ease that is seldomly heard.
The first single of the album, the beautifully tender "Sycamore Feeling", features Danish singer-songwriter Marie Fisker, and the album includes other collaborations with English artist Fyfe Dangerfield (from UK-based Guillemots) and singers Solveig Sandnes and Josephine Philip (from the debuting Danish indie girl-duo Darkness Falls.)
Fellow musicians and friends have contributed to the visuals, too, with design artists Henrik Vibskov and Andreas Emenius handling the artwork, and a video from director Jesper Just to be announced shortly.
Into the Great Wide Yonder will be released on June 7th, but "Sycamore Feeling", the first single, drops in early April.
A US tour with a live band will follow this fall.
