The You and Me Ensemble Present Their Forthcoming Mini Album 'Through The Forests and Into The Fields'

The You and Me Ensemble

The You and Me Ensemble announce the launch of their debut album, 'Through The Forests and Into The Trees' on Monday 1st October, 2010 via London label Special Blend Records.

The album features a compelling combination of songs and instrumentals that are interlinked by delicate and beautiful melodies, soft intimate vocals and a spell-binding sparkle that comes from the wide instrumentation used. The album and music will appeal to the Big Chill generation aficionados who look for relaxing sounds to accompany their busy lives.

The You and Me Ensemble is the brainchild of composer/producer Chris Read who wrote all the music and plays all the instruments. The 8 tracks draw from his many musical influences that range from The Penguin Café Orchestra, Feist, Mark Mothersbaugh and The Beatles.

The music is hugely emotive and the vocals only add to this. Chris brought in two guest singers on four of the tracks. This is the core idea behind The You and Me Ensemble, a rotation of guest artists to keep the sound fresh and progressive.

Kristy London is the principle vocalist on the album. She can be heard on "See You", "Open Letters" and "Sparkle". Her voice is reminiscent of Fiest or Sia and Chris felt she would be ideal for this album. Marcin Pasak, who gives a big vocal performance on "Hymn to Her", worked with Chris on past projects.

Chris's love of soundtracks and film score can be heard on his atmospheric instrumentals "The Silence of The Night Weighs Down" and "Birds Outside".

The You & Me Ensemble have been added to Tom Robinsons' BBC 6 Music Playlist!
