Charlie Simpson debut solo single "Down Down Down" out April 11th

"Down Down Down" the multi-textured debut solo single taken from Charlie Simpson's forthcoming album 'Young Pilgrim' is currently Fearne Cotton's Record of the Week on Radio 1.
It is available to download from iTunes from April 11, 2011 (impact date of May 16th).
Written by Charlie Simpson and produced by Danton Supple (Coldplay, Doves) the very first one man effort from the Fightstar frontman is an acoustic based, harmony flooded alt.ballad inspired in part by Charlie's love of the Beach Boys, Jackson Browne and Elliott Smith.
Interlaced with a tender string section and haunting overlaid vocal parts as well as rough and ready guitar string squeaks, "Down Down Down" is a handcrafted, driving folk-rock triumph, miles away from the land of over-polished chart pop.
"I definitely want this to be the first picture people see," explains Charlie. "A lot of people say, 'what is your solo stuff like?' because they don't really have an idea. I would always play 'Down Down Down' to them to show them. It's a nice representation of what else is to come…."
"Down Down Down" is the first single to be taken from Charlie Simpson's forthcoming debut solo album 'Young Pilgrim', which is set for release on August 15, 2011.
To celebrate the release of Charlie's debut single, a 3 track EP featuring the original demo of Down Down Down is available to download FREE at charliesimpsonmusic.com.
