The Danko Jones song, "I'm Alive and On Fire" was featured in the latest episode of HBO's hit television show True Blood.
Episode 4 (original airdate Sunday, July 17) titled "I'm Alive and On Fire" was named after the band's track and debut album of the same name.
The song, a powerfully heavy, fast-paced fan favorite, was used in its entirety during the end credits of the show.
Fans of the band and show can now download the track for free during a limited time exclusively at RollingStone.com. The episode will re-air throughout the week on HBO (check your local listings) and can be streamed online at HBOGo.com.
No stranger to vampire folklore, Danko Jones filmed a vampire inspired video in 2006 for the song "First Date," from the album Sleep is the Enemy, which can be viewed on YouTube. Danko Jones "I'm Alive and On Fire" is also available on iTunes.
Danko Jones "Had Enough" video starring Ralph Macchio
Recently, the band has announced a run of live shows in the U.S. through August and September in support of the re-released full-length album Below the Belt as a deluxe reissue featuring two new bonus tracks titled "Guest List Blues" and "Rock N Roll Proletariat." Also included in the newly expanded CD version is the entire acclaimed Below the Belt music video trilogy.
The band is currently on a European festival tour in support of the release.
Danko Jones 'Never Too Loud' album
The Below the Belt video trilogy was shot over the course of 2010 and 2011 for the album tracks Full of Regret, Had Enough, and I Think Bad Thoughts.
The video for Full of Regret, a highly-stylized, film-like music video noir, has been described as "one-part 'Sabotage,' one-part Guy Ritchie, one-part Quentin Tarantino" and stars actor Elijah Wood and actress Selma Blair, with featured guest appearances by Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead) and Mike Watt (Minutemen, fIREHOSE, Stooges).
SPIN.com called the video for "Had Enough", starring Ralph Macchio, "a noir-ish crime story that's like a Charles Bukowski novel come to life" with Billboard.com hailing the final installment of the trilogy for I Think Bad Thoughts, as being "filled with badassery on so many levels."
"I Think Bad Thoughts" stars actress Jena Malone (Sucker Punch) with Elijah Wood, Ralph Macchio and Mike Watt reprising their roles from the previous two videos. View the entire video trilogy at GetMeDankoJones.com.
Described by Maxim as "AC/DC sniffing glue with Motley Crue" and hailed by SPIN as "the world's most entertaining hard rockers," Danko Jones on vox/guitar, John Calabrese aka JC on bass, and new addition Atom Willard (Rocket from the Crypt, The Offspring, Angels & Airwaves) on drums have relentlessly toured the world over.
Sharing stages with everyone from hard rock icons Motörhead and Sepultura to rock heavyweights Guns N' Roses and Nickelback to musical legends the Rolling Stones, the Toronto trio may very well be one of the best, or worst, kept secrets in music today.
