Franky Knight, which is being released in the U.S. on August 14, 2012, is an intensely emotional album that maintains a sense of both melancholy and joy. Renowned for her inventive production skills and use of electronic software in her music, Emilie creates an ingenious and beguiling soundscape that is uniquely her own.
With acclaim that includes three wins at France's prestigious "Victoires de la Musique" (French equivalent to the GRAMMY Awards) and nominations for the Prix Constantin and Cesars (French equivalent to the U.S Academy Awards), Emilie Simon has blazed a path in her native France as a forward thinking composer, singer/songwriter and dynamic electro-pop musician as well as one of the country's best selling female recording artists.
The U.S. release of her new album coincides with the theatrical release of the Audrey Tautou film Delicacy, directed by the Foenkinos Brothers and based on the multi-million selling novel of the same name.
Franky Knight serves as the primary soundtrack to the movie, with Emilie also creating all of the original score for the film.
