Debut single from Making Marks out on Fika Recordings

Making Marks

The debut single from Norway's Making Marks will be out on Fika Recordings on the 15th October 2012 as a limited edition 7" single with download, also available as a stand alone download.

"Ticket Machine" takes its cues from Making Marks' first release, the free mp3 "Hard To Be Good", as played on BBC Radio 1 by Huw Stephens.

"Ticket Machine" is all upbeat classic indiepop at first listen. Dig a little deeper, beyond the twinkling guitars and male/female harmonies and the song has a much shadier, more sinister core.

The b-side, "Like Spinning", follows this somewhat darker-than-twee lead, exploring the vulgar, ugly and absurd side of life in a compassionate, beautiful way. Introspective while not reserved, "Like Spinning" recalls the tenderness of Belle & Sebastian at their best.
