Deezer announces partnership with Trojan Records

Deezer and Trojan Records

Deezer, one of the world's premier music streaming services has partnered with iconic record label Trojan Records.

Since its launch in 1968, the label has led the way in presenting the very best in classic Jamaican sounds, consistently highlighting the cream of Jamaican talent, with Bob Marley & The Wailers, Jimmy Cliff, Toots & The Maytals, Desmond Dekker and Gregory Isaacs among those included on its illustrious roster.

The partnership will feature a Trojan Records Deezer radio channel, compiled by Trojan's team of Jamaican music experts, with over six hours of classic Jamaican sounds, including classic Reggae tracks as well as deep catalogue rarities.

The partnership will also see Deezer streaming a series of new Trojan releases, including exclusive versions of Trojan Presents: Boss Reggae (out 22 October) and Trojan Presents: The Producers (out 29 October).

The radio channel will be promoted across both the Deezer and Trojan Records websites and social channels and will also be made available as an embeddable widget. All Deezer widgets play music instantly and directly from webpages with no need to open a separate tab or requiring the user to download any software.

Mark Foster, MD of Deezer UK and Ireland said: "Trojan Records' catalogue and legacy is unrivaled. I'm delighted that a Deezer - Trojan radio station can be added to the long list of great initiatives the iconic label has implemented for fans of Jamaican music."

Barri Coen of Trojan Records added: "We're very excited about working with Deezer as they allow us to reach a new audience for our vast Reggae catalogue. Music fans who only pull out a Reggae compilation when the barbeque comes out now have the opportunity to delve into the Trojan vaults without having to leave their computer or mobile device, so we hope that many more people will discover and fall in love with the rich legacy of Trojan Records."
