The Lighthouse and The Whaler, a celebrated Cleveland, OH band hailed as an Artist To Watch by KEXP, Paste Magazine and Google, will hit the road in support of their new album This Is An Adventure out next Tuesday, September 18, 2012. Paste Magazine is currently streaming the album produced by Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers) a week before its release (link below).
Known for their sweeping melodies which MTV declares "really cool melodic folk rock" and a mesmerizing live show that "you've got to check out for yourself," The Lighthouse and The Whaler will set out on a six-week national headlining tour beginning September 15 in Cleveland, OH that will include this year's FILTER Magazine Culture Collide Festival.
New songs "Venice," which has already reached 100,000 SoundCloud streams all through organic word-of-mouth, and "Little Vessels" which was just spotlighted by Pure Volume, are two of the ten tracks that have Daytrotter calling the band's sound "effortless folk pop." KEXP goes on to praise the band's "uplifting, rustic, indie pop," while AOL Spinner applauds the band's "ethereal, sweeping melodies and intimate lyrics."
The Lighthouse and The Whaler have already played more than 200 shows sharing the stage with The Temper Trap, Cults and GIVERS to name a few, and are looking forward to spending the rest of 2012 on the road. Tour dates below and more to be announced.
