Updated Version Of "Mercy" Includes Special Message From Dave Matthews
Today, in honor of National Voter Registration Day, Dave Matthews Band premiered an updated version of the video for their hit single "Mercy."
The clip features a special message from Dave Matthews about voting and an embedded link to HeadCount's voter registration page.
The video is part of the first ever National Voter Registration Day (NVRD), which will bring together volunteers, artists, celebrities, organizations and corporations for a single day of coordinated efforts around voter registration.
NVRD was established to help make voting easier and more universal. In 2008, 75 million Americans eligible to vote didn't, many because they weren't registered.
The updated "Mercy" clip - featured on Youtube's home page as part of the day's events - addresses this reality, observing in the opening text and in the chorus of the song, "One by one we can turn it around."
Andy Bernstein, the Executive Director of HeadCount, said: "This song and video captures the idea that individuals working together can make a difference. That lies at the core of everything we believe."

"Mercy," a No. 1 hit at Triple A radio, is the first single from Away From The World (RCA Records), which bowed at No. 1 on theBillboard 200 last week, making Dave Matthews Band the first group in chart history to have six consecutive studio albums debut atop the chart.
