Oxford based alt-indie-folk band The Epstein have signed to [PIAS] for BENELUX.
Their long awaited second album 'Murmurations' will be released early 2013 and their first single from 'Murmurations', "I Held You Once", is available now in BENELUX.
The Epstein was formed in 2006 when singer / songwriter Olly Wills started attending open mic nights with guitarist Jon Berry. The Epstein released their debut album 'Last of the Charanguistas' which garnered widespread praise including Huw Stephen's album of the week on BBC Radio 1 and Editors Choice in Rolling Stone.
Off the back of the ensuing buzz, The Epstein performed on the prestigious Acoustic Stage at Glastonbury Festival. Following various band member changes The Epstein's line up has expanded to include keyboard player and producer Sebastian Reynolds, bassist Humphrey Astley and drummer Tommy Longfellow.
The forthcoming 'Murmurations' album is a departure from the rootsy, Americana feel of 'Last of the Charanguistas' and takes in the expansive, lush orchestration of Ennio Morricone as a major influence on the sound of The Epstein.
