HER PARENTS - FREE DOWNLOAD SINGLE // HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALBUM RELEASED ON 12" (w/ Slipmat) - 13th May
Release free download single "Lithuanian Mercedes"
Feature members of Dananananaykroyd, Stairs to Korea and Internet Forever
Second album Happy Birthday released on 13th May (20th May Digital) with UK Tour
After recording, releasing and touring their Pitchfork endorsed debut album in a month-long flurry last August, and selling out their last single "Why Don't You Just Fu*k Off" in under an hour - Her Parents, London's most visceral punk quartet, have released the next cut of their forthcoming record, Happy Birthday.
The song, "Lithuanian Mercedes" is out for free download today. The album is released on 12" on the 13th (and Digital 20th) May 2013.
Her Parents' new record is called Happy Birthday and has songs about a haunted brasserie, hollowing out a horse and the king of the babies. Like their previous album, Physical Release, it was recorded in a single session with no instrumental overdubs. Unlike said former album, this one will be released on 12" vinyl, the B-side containing their last album 'Physical Release' as a present for said anniversary. They're way too punk to write long songs.
The various members of the eminently lovable quartet hail from Scotland, Australia, Iceland and Coventry and feature current/ex-members of Dananananaykroyd, Stairs to Korea and Internet Forever. Bassist Sean Clothier explains the complex and tortured complexities behind the music: "We are a great bunch of guys who play really quick punk songs that make you jump around and punch things for no more than about 90 seconds at a time." Easy!
