Fittingly, the campaign will feature Lil Goonie’s anthemic single “Girlz Gone Wild” in a series of commercials and infomercials, to be run on major networks such as SpikeTV, Comedy Central, MTV, and FUSE. The song will also be touted on the inundated Girls Gone Wild website; www.GirlsGoneWild.com. An accompanying video captures a live performance by Lil Goonie in his home state of Tennessee.

The limelight is nothing new to the Nashville native, who’s been rhyming since age 12. By 15, he had an exclusive production deal. In 2007, he caught the eye of vaunted talent scout and President of Urban Music for Jive/Zomba, Mark Pitts. Pitts, the former manager of the Notorious B.I.G., Faith Evans and Nas, and current A&R for Usher, Ciara and Chris Brown, immediately signed Lil Goonie to Bystorm Entertainment, his label imprint through Jive Records.

Eric Deutsch, Senior Vice President of Production for Mantra Films, who’s been instrumental in the arrangement, adds: “Of all the Girls Gone Wild songs we’ve received over the past 10 years, this has to be the best one. Country music singer-songwriter Mark O’Shea features patients, families and staff members from the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in his new music video, “Look at You Now.”

The video was screened for the first time at the hospital with a party and live performance for those who were in it on October 30, 2008.

O’Shea had surgery as an infant in his native country, Australia, to repair a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot. Having had several Chart topping hits as an artist and songwriter back home, he and his wife Jay moved to Nashville two years ago to further develop a music career here. After touring 41 of 50 states and working with some of the best names in the business, Mark is already creating quite a buzz.

“I was delighted with the opportunity to work with the Pediatric Heart Institute,” O’Shea said. “They are truly leading the way in caring for kids with heart problems. It just seemed to be the perfect fit for me and a great way to hopefully ease the mind of a few parents and kids out there who are going through the same thing I did.”

In the video, a number of children who had heart surgeries and non-surgical repair of heart defects show photos from the time of their surgery, then the patients toss the photos aside to show how well they have recovered. The Marcum family, from Knoxville, Tenn. happened to be at the hospital preparing for their 7-year-old daughter Sarah’s open heart surgery when they saw O’Shea performing his song and screening the video.

“It was almost like safety in numbers,” said Emily Marcum. “There were so many people in the room and in the video who had been through it already, it was reassuring.”

But The Dodos, the band who sold out the venue, are none of that. Theirs is a craft that offers absolutely nothing to hide behind. ‘The Crying Light’ is the highly anticipated full-length follow-up to ‘I Am a Bird Now’. Here, Antony shifts the thematic focus and explores his relationship with the natural world. The intimacy of the Johnsons’ sound is enveloped by avant-classical composer Nico Muhly’s symphonic arrangements.

The first moments of “Her Eyes Are Underneath the Ground” unveil an animist world in which the leaves are winking and the sun “…dances crystals in my eyes.” The joyful ricochets of “Kiss My Name” and the spiraling waltz of “Epilepsy Is Dancing” are to follow.

The record’s centerpiece, “Another World” traces the singer’s despair in the face of a vanishing landscape. Former Savage Garden frontman Darren Hayes continues his defiant musical journey by releasing ‘This Delicate Film We’ve Made’; a DVD album in surround sound with extraordinary animated visuals.

Hayes commissioned two animators and almost 18 months of their time to create a collection of short animated and filmed music video pieces to accompany songs from his latest album.

With music remixed and re-mastered in 5.1 surround sound - Hayes describes the DVD as “the way the album was always meant to be seen”.

Buzz for the DVD has already begun with director Richard Cullen’s video for “Who Would Have Thought” being short listed for a BIMA award (British Interactive Media Association) at the London ceremony on November 27, 2008 presented by Digital Arts Magazine.

Richard Cullen, who is Hayes’ partner, has most recently worked on animated visuals for George Michael’s Stadium shows and the upcoming Keane arena tour. He began his career as a director of theatre and eventually lectured in film at Greenwich University before going on to creating visuals for music videos and concert tours. Director Damian Hale has had a long history of creating music videos and concert tours, most famously for U2 and Janet Jackson.

Darren even directed one video himself, for the intensely personal “Neverland”. The song, which touches Hayes’ painful childhood experience of growing up with domestic violence was a true hands on affair. Darren made props, designed costumes and called the shots on the London set.

The DVD marks the final release in support of Hayes’ double Album ‘This Delicate Thing We’ve Made’ which he released on his label ‘Powdered Sugar’ in 2007.

This two-disc addition to the band’s live canon contains two club shows witnessed by few but bootlegged by many. Restored and carefully mastered from first-generation tapes acquired by Elektra Records and The Doors 40 years ago, these historic shows never sounded better. The collection, featuring cover art by legendary San Francisco artist Stanley Mouse, will be available November 18, 2008 at all retail outlets, including www.rhino.co.uk.

Where the previous three Bright Midnight Archives releases documented The Doors’ final tour in 1970, ‘Live At The Matrix 1967′ rewinds to the band’s early days for a pair of shows at a San Francisco club in March 1967.

Only a handful of people showed up, so Jim Morrison, John Densmore, Robby Krieger, and Ray Manzarek played for each other, exploring song arrangements and jamming on a few blues favourites. Ironically, only a few weeks after the Matrix shows, the band’s second single, “Light My Fire,” would make them famous, selling a million copies on its way to topping the chart during The Summer of Love.

“It was early 1967 and The Doors were about to enter the consciousness of the nation. And this is the way it sounded,” Manzarek writes in the album’s liner notes.

In spite of the empty room, the band is fully engaged, using the time to give “The End” and “Back Door Man” extra lyrics and extended sections. “This is probably the closest we’ve come to a true document of The Doors without constraints,” says Bruce Botnick, the album’s producer and the band’s long-time co-producer and engineer.

The band performs much of its self-titled debut on the first disc, including “Soul Kitchen,” “Alabama Song (Whisky Bar),” and the first single, “Break On Through (To The Other Side).”

Along with those early originals, the band indulges its love of the blues with Bo Diddley’s “Who Do You Love,” Muddy Waters’ “I’m A King Bee,” and Allen Toussaint’s “Get Out Of My Life, Woman,” which has never appeared on any previous Doors albums.

The second disc offers a glimpse of the band mapping out its future, working out early versions of several songs from upcoming albums: “Crawling King Snake” (LA Woman); “Summer’s Almost Gone” (Waiting For The Sun); and nearly half of the songs from The Doors’ second album, ‘Strange Days’.

One of the most historic musical moments to accompany one of the most historic days in my lifetime.

On November 3rd 2008, Sheffield singer-songwriter Helen Boulding releases a brand new single, “It’s You”, on the Maid In Sheffield label.

The track is the first original piece of music commissioned by the charity PDSA (People’s Dispensary For Sick Animals). It soundtracked a short campaign last month and, bringing the biggest response to any previous campaign, it will soundtrack a new campaign this month. The track is available to download from www.pdsasong.org.uk.

“It’s You” originated as a 30 second verse and chorus, written by Helen and film composer Guy Farley specially for the advert, currently running across daytime commercial channels. Due to the public reaction to the track, Helen completed the song, with the PDSA actively involved in promoting the release, via their website, links on their Facebook page, homepage banners, mailouts to all PDSA shops, hospitals and veterinary partnerships, links to her site on PDSA staff signatures, emails to all PDSA registered supporters and editorial in their monthly magazine.

Profits from sales of “It’s You” will be donated back to the PDSA.
