“Silence Is Talking” is the brand new single taken from Reverend and the Makers second album ‘A French Kiss In The Chaos’. Released on 13th July 2009 on 7″/CD and digital download through Wall of Sound, “Silence Is Talking” rides on a blissed out euphoric groove and looks set to become a huge summer anthem, dominating the airways and dance floors from Sheffield to Ibiza, festivals and clubs, rockers and ravers.

‘A French Kiss In The Chaos’ is released on the 27th July and is the follow up to 2007’s Top 5 album ‘The State of Things’ (which spawned several hit singles including “Heavyweight Champion of the World” and “He Said He Loved Me”).

Produced by Jagz Kooner (Primal Scream/Kasabian) and mixed by Dave Sardy (The Ting Tings/Oasis/LCD Soundsystem) the album features 10 tracks covering topics such as global warming, Prozac and consumerism – but with an abiding and persistent sense of optimism and positivity.

Musically the new album embraces 60’s psychedelia alongside a thoroughly modern and vibrant sound. “Professor Pickles” weaves a hypnotic carousel of sound with pure pop, “No Wood Just Trees” features soaring brass around an infectious hook. “No Soap (In a Dirty War)” is a colossal tune which explodes into a life affirming sing-along chorus whereas the album finale “Hard Time for Dreamers” is a delicate, brooding number shot through with vulnerability. ‘A French Kiss In The Chaos’ takes Reverend and the Makers musically leaps and bounds from their debut.

Jon McClure (The Reverend) and the band will head out on tour throughout the summer, playing headline shows, festivals and are special guests to Oasis on several shows.

They will play 5 nights in a row in London (8th – 13th July) at three different venues which will see them appear in front of over an incredible 275,000 people. The band have also just confirmed a UK headlining tour for October/November 2009.

Kasabian have finally been confirmed to play this year’s Glastonbury Festival, putting an end to months of speculation.

In what will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the year, Kasabian were made an offer they simply could not refuse – playing as special guests to Bruce Springsteen’s Saturday night (June 27, 2009) show on the main stage at Glastonbury.

The Glastonbury show sits in between Kasabian’s 20-date UK tour and those massive stadium shows with Oasis, in what is set to be an epic summer.

Their eagerly awaited new album ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’ is released June 8th. Preceding this is their blazing new single “Fire” (June 1st), which was premiered on Radio One by Zane Lowe when he covered for Chris Moyles’ Bank Holiday Monday breakfast show.

Kasabian also play Radio One’s Big Weekend, May 9th.

Glastonbury Festival

In what will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the year, Kasabian announce a 20-date UK summer tour to coincide with the release of their extraordinary new album ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’ (June 8th), on Columbia.

Kasabian – Serge Pizzorno (Songwriter, Guitar, Vocals), Tom Meighan (Vocals), Chris Edwards (Bass) and Ian Matthews (Drums) kick off the tour in their hometown of Leicester for a trio of shows (May 29th, 30th, 31st) and round off the tour with 2-dates at the Brixton Academy (July 16th, 17th).

Kasabian also play 9 massive stadium shows this summer as special guests to Oasis, which begins in Manchester, June 4th and brought to a spectacular close with 3-dates at Wembley Stadium (July 9th, 11th, 12th).

New Zealand singer-songwriter Ladyhawke will play on the same bill as The Kooks at the Eden Sessions on July 18, 2009.

Ladyhawke, whose real name is Phillipa Brown, is famous for her single “Paris is Burning”, taken from her self-titled debut album released at the end of last year. She was nominated alongside Pete Doherty and Jay-Z in the Best Solo Artist category of this year’s NME Awards.

Reverend and the Makers return with their first headlining tour of 2009 with 5 UK shows in July. This will be the first chance to hear new material from their forthcoming second album set for release in the summer. Tickets go on sale 20th March 2009, details below.

These shows run alongside 5 summer supergigs with Oasis which the band were specially invited to play.

The band have spent the end of last year and start of this recording the follow up to 2007’s top five release ‘The State of Things’. The gold album spawned several hit singles including “Heavyweight Champion of the World” and “He Said He Loved Me”. The band toured the world for 18 months and performed at Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, T in the Park and various other festivals worldwide.

Lead singer Jon McClure (The Reverend) has also spent time since the last album getting involved with various projects including political forum Instigate Debate and the indie/hip-hop group Mongrel.

The currently untitled new album is scheduled for release on Wall of Sound, and was recorded again with Jagz Kooner (Primal Scream/Kasabian) and mixed by Dave Sardy (The Ting Tings/Oasis/LCD Soundsystem).
