Long before Orianthi had a smash single, an album burning up the charts, or a gig with the King of Pop, the then 15-year-old prodigy was opening for one of her heroes, the legendary guitarist Steve Vai, at a gig in her hometown of Adelaide, Australia.

Since then the two have been close friends and collaborated on the track "Highly Strung," from Orianthi's US debut album Believe.

Now, Vai and Orianthi appear together in a new music video for "Highly Strung," which premiered recently on AOL's Spinner.

"Highly Strung" Music Video Featuring Steve Vai to Premiere on AOL on Tuesday January 19th

After a whirlwind few months following the release of her debut album, Believe, and This Is It, the film that showcased her incredible guitar skills to the world, pop sensation Orianthi isn't about to slow down any time soon.

With her album ranked number one on Billboard's New Artist chart this week, she will be performing her hit single "According to You" on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday, January 19th, and the Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday, January 21, 2010.

The 19th also marks the premiere of Orianthi's new music video for "Highly Strung," a blistering guitar duet between she and legendary guitarist Steve Vai, a long-time friend and mentor to the 24-year-old Australian beauty.

In the video, premiering exclusively on AOL, the two phenoms will face each other in a guitar show-down of epic proportions.

Introducing Orianthi, the guitar phenomenon who is featured prominently in the upcoming Michael Jackson concert documentary, This Is It.

Already a renowned musician, Orianthi has been playing guitar since the age of eleven and was discovered by legend Carlos Santana. After playing with artists like Carrie Underwood, ZZ Top, and Prince, she received a MySpace message from Michael Jackson's musical director asking her to audition for his comeback tour. Following a test run with the King of Pop himself, she was selected as his lead guitarist for his O2 arena dates in London - a crowning achievement for the 24 year old from Adelaide, Australia.

Now Orianthi is preparing to release her solo debut album, 'Believe', on October 27, 2009.

In addition to her talent at guitar, Orianthi has a gorgeous voice and even sang at Michael Jackson's Staples Center memorial service. Even before starting rehearsals for his tour though, she was hard at work writing and recording the album with her band.

'Believe' is full of anthemic rock tracks with a sound reminiscent of Paramore or Evanescence, but entirely Orianthi thanks to her signature shreds and thunderous hooks.

Her first single, "According to You" is a catchy tale of an ungrateful boyfriend, featuring a killer guitar solo.
