Hudson Mohawke, the precocious Glaswegian who put himself on the map with the smart, glossy, hyper-real debut album 'Butter' in October last year is finally setting off for a long overdue UK tour.

Attracting a whole lotta love with 'Butter', Hudson Mohawke has been courted all over the press from The Guardian to the Sunday Times, gracing the covers of Cookie Scene in Japan and Scottish title The Skinny amongst features in many other worldwide publications.

Hud Mo has received huge support at Radio 1, receiving album of the month on Radio 1 Scotland Vic Galloway's show as well as being heralded 'the future of pop' by Zane Lowe and receiving airplay love from Rob da Bank, Mary Anne Hobbs, Annie Mac, Gilles Peterson, Benji B; even stepping up to the plate for Pete Tong's mammoth 2 hour Essential Mix, a mix which has since seen the blogosphere go wild.

So it's on this platform that Hudson embarks on his first full UK 'Pegasus Rising' tour where he will be playing key shows at the old Factory HQ, FAC251 The Factory in Manchester as well as the Detonate indoor festival in Nottingham and will be kick starting May bank holiday by celebrating Dummy magazine's birthday at the Macbeth.

Anyone who has seen Hudson recently will know that his live show promises a joyride through the most cutting edge genres led by one of the new masters of the scene.

Accompanying him on the road will be theatrical ringmaster and host Olivier Daysoul who contributed his vocal talents to the album including the anthemic "Joy Fantastic" and the swingbeat infused "I Just Decided", and Hepcat Radio originator miss Mamiko Motto on several of the dates.

If you can't wait til April, Hudson will also play A Taste of Sonar on March 6th and also support Phoenix (fresh from picking up their Grammy award) on March 30th, both at the Roundhouse, London.

"Butter is twitchier than a smoker on a 12-hour flight... For the intrepid listener, though, this is popping candy for the ears." - NME

Introducing: KCAT "Boys Don't Cry" out 24th January 2010

KCAT merges music, fashion and style

Unique, stylish, fashionable, feisty and edgy - KCAT demands attention in everything she does and as her debut single, "Boys Don’t Cry" prepares to drop, she is sure to capture the attention of the music industry and music fans alike.

Born in North London, KCAT (pronounced as "cat") has been performing from a young age and over the years has developed into an accomplished singer / songwriter.

Having proved her undeniable talent whilst featuring on Delinquent's top twenty smash "My Destiny" KCAT is now dazzling audiences up and down the country all on her own.

With over four million views on Youtube already, her unique and energetic sound is drawing an ever increasing fan base.

Constantly building on her astute production skills, she draws on musical influences such as Blondie, Queen, Donna Summer, Pink and Gwen Stefani to co-produce much of her own music. Alongside controversial lyrical content of modern and relatable subject matter, KCAT has nurtured her knack of writing diverse and interesting pop songs.

Her debut single, the eagerly awaited "Boys Don’t Cry" will land in January 2010. This futuristic, infectious track has already secured early spot plays on specialist Radio 1 shows and has gained popularity with a number of commercial DJs across the country. Upon release, "Boys Don't Cry" is set to propel KCAT into the star that she was born to become.

The 17-date UK tour kicks off in Sheffield on 16th November, 2009 and runs through to 17th December at London's Brixton Academy.

Example burst onto the scene earlier this year with the release of the demonic club track "Hooligans" and went onto to dominate the summer with the smash hit "Watch The Sun Come Up" leading The Guardian to label him 'a brilliant pop tinged superstar in the making'.

Live, Example's energy is limitless and his show is a no holds barred performance - his raps are razor sharp and his newfound love of all things pop comes through with killer choruses in tracks like the single "Watch The Sun Come Up" and the Calvin Harris produced "Time Machine".

Fans will also be treated to a sneak preview of new single "Won’t Go Quietly" and hear some Example classics like "Me & Mandy" and "Dirty Face" as well as the most recently released and totally deviant "Hooligans" which earned Example the tag of 'dysfunctional electro pop sensation' by the NME.

Zane Lowe, Nick Grimshaw, Annie Mac, Judge Jules, Jo Whiley, Chris Moyles, Sara Cox and Pete Tong at Radio 1 all sing his praises, and Pete invited Example out to Ibiza this summer to perform on his live show with other specially invited guests Florence and the Machine and Pendulum. Zane also asked him to do a live PA during his show at Eden.

The Maccabees ace new single, "Can You Give It", is out this week, and comes backed with a brass band rendition of the song as a b-side on 7-inch.

The version is so good they want everyone to hear it, so it’s just been made available for free:

Download the Maccabees – Can You Give It (Dodworth Colliery M.W. Brass Band Rendition) for free at the Guardian.co.uk

"We had to do some B-sides," says Orlando Weeks, the band's lead singer told The Guardian.

"Quite a lot of the record touched on brass, so I thought it would be nice to go the whole hog. We didn't want to get another lot of remixes. Everyone's kind of heard enough of the rr-rr-rrrrow."

If all that weren’t enough, the band were in the Radio 1 Live Lounge this morning, performing "Can You Give It" and a cover of Black Eyed Peas’ "Boom Boom Pow": The Maccabees on Radio 1
