We all love watching movies in the comfort of our own homes (especially this time of year). But what about independent films from up-and-coming filmmakers and directors?

Introducing Indieroad.net, an online network exclusively for independent filmmakers and film lovers. You can stream the films in real time, or download them to watch whenever you’d like.

Indieroad.net offers multiple genres of cutting edge short films, full length feature films, documentary films, animated films, and original film soundtrack music. Content is selected from the best filmmakers around the world at the forefront of independent cinema.

Material on Indieroad.net is reviewed and chosen by a panel of professionals on the site’s film screening team. In addition to the priceless chance to market their films, the participating independent filmmakers will also receive a guaranteed percentage of revenue from films, music and advertising sales.

Visitors to the site who wish to watch the films can stream or download them for as low as 80 cents per film. Additionally, original soundtrack music can be downloaded for 50 cents per song.

To experience Indieroad.net online film viewing at no cost, site visitors can access “Discover Shorts,” a free short film program playing every Saturday, as well as the Filmmaker Showcase that provides previews, detailed filmmakers bios, and interviews.

We’re very excited to announce that starting January 15, 2009, Indieroad.net will be partnering with Slamdance Film Festival to provide an exclusive online portal to the festival — Indieroad.net will be streaming the festival’s films on a dedicated Slamdance/IndieRoad website, to be unveiled soon. The films will be streamed as they are screened for the festival crowd in Park City, Utah. Bringing the Festival to a worldwide audience for the first time, this ground breaking partnership will allow audiences who cannot attend the festival to participate from a location of their choosing, be it home, office or any other wired environment.

In our economically strapped era, the cost to watch will be $9 per film, a bargain for movie buff buddies who can congregate for group viewings. In keeping with Indieroad’s company philosophy of providing ample monetary reward to artists, one-third of the profits for each film viewed will go directly to the filmmakers.

The online film entries will be available two hours after each premiere at Slamdance.

Each selection will be available in two bandwidths, making the films more viewer-friendly. The films will also be encrypted to protect the content from piracy.

“I am really stoked to have Glory Boy Days streamed by Indieroad.net and Slamdance. Slamdance was something I wanted everyone to be a part of and now, through the miracle of the Internet everyone can.” – Paul Encinas, writer and director of Glory Boy Days

Stay tuned for an update on the films that will be available for stream!
