Global superstar and EMI / Priority Records recording artist Snoop Dogg announces his latest tour featuring hip hop greats Method Man, Redman and Devin the Dude.

The tour, titled “Wonderland High School Tour,” is a bonafide hip hop lover’s dream and will kick off on October 27, 2009 in Baltimore and travel across North America.

After 17 years and 30 million albums sold worldwide, as well as stints in both television and film, Snoop has proven he is amongst the greatest artists of all time. With an arsenal of both new and classic hits, fans can expect the best of Snoop Dogg on these tour dates.

First New Priority Release to Be a New Snoop Studio Album, ‘Malice N Wonderland’

Snoop to Executive Produce Commemorative Releases for Legendary West Coast Rap Label, Celebrating 25th Anniversary in 2010

EMI Music has appointed iconic, multi-media superstar Snoop Dogg to the new position of Creative Chairman of its famed Priority Records Label, where he will apply the same unique, creative and business savvy that established him as one of the most successful stars in Hip-Hop and helped define West Coast Rap as a major musical genre to develop great music for new and existing fans.

Snoop Dogg will also release a new studio album for Priority that EMI will bring to fans around the world.

Snoop Dogg, a true global superstar who has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and who has also become a beloved film and television personality, will release ‘Malice N Wonderland’, his tenth studio album, this December.

‘Malice N Wonderland’ will have production and mixing by: The Dream, Christopher ‘Tricky’ Stewart, Dr. Dre, Pharrell, Danja, Nottz, and will feature: Soulja Boy, Lil Jon, R. Kelly, The Dream, Brandy and Jazmine Sullivan.

He will also serve as Executive Producer for a new series of Priority releases slated to begin hitting the market next year to commemorate the label’s 25th anniversary.

Barbadian pop artist to tour with Sean Kingston and the New Boyz October 4th through November 11th

His catchy, Caribbean-tinged first single “Oh Yeah” already churning up big waves, Jaicko has announced a winter release date for his debut album ‘Can I’.

The titular track is a standout, cresting with emotion in detailing Jaicko’s long and circuitous path to international notoriety. Yes he’s only 18, but he began performing at age nine, and entered a recording booth a year later. On March 3rd, 2009, legendary hip hop pioneer Grandmaster Flash releases ‘The Bridge’ on Adrenaline City Entertainment via Strut, his first high profile studio album since his final recordings for Elektra back in 1987.

“As a DJ, I’ve been blessed to see many different people, places and styles. The album title represents all the bridges I’ve crossed worldwide,” explains Flash. “The bridges of time, cultures and colour, the bridges of hip hop, funk, pop, rock, jazz, punk, disco and R&B.”

Recorded at Flash’s own Adrenaline Lab studio in New York during 2007-2008, the over-riding theme of the album is the global language of hip hop. “Wherever I travel as a DJ, I see the incredible power of this artform,” Flash explains. “I am constantly amazed by it. That’s the line that runs through the album – we speak many languages and come from many cultures but, wherever I go in the world, there is one universal culture of hip hop.”

Based on this theme, Flash features the track “We Speak Hip Hop” as a centrepiece, bringing together a multi-national tag team consisting of four MCs rapping in their own languages. KASE-O (from Spanish crew Violadores Del Verso), MACCHO (from Ozrosaurus, Japan), ABASS (Senegal) and AFASI (from Afasi & Filthy, Sweden) trade verses for the first track of its kind. “I used one of my main battle breaks from back in the day for this one and I chose MCs who had the right flow,” continues Flash. “It wasn’t about finding the biggest names – some of the guys are known widely in their own country, some are more underground. It was more about the right chemistry. KRS ONE glues this one together with the main hook and the final verse.”

Throughout the album, Flash mixes up the flow and features some heavyweight guests and intriguing collaborations. Familiar faces appearing on the album include BUSTA RHYMES on the X-rated special, “Bounce Back”, A Tribe Called Quest frontman Q-TIP, alongside Will Smith collaborator KEL SPENCER and JUMZ on the poetic “Shine All Day” and SNOOP DOGG alongside mixtape hero RED CAFÉ and LYN CARTER on the bumpin’, mid-tempo swayer, “Swagger”.

The original hip hop teacher KRS-ONE imagines a world without hip hop on the hilarious and insightful “What If?” – “No Will Smith, no Queen Latifah / There’d only be tight jeans and black sneakers!”

BIG DADDY KANE gets funky with hot new female Philadelphia MC HEDONIS DA AMAZON on the steamy mid-tempo jam “When I Get There”; on “Those Chix”, Flash sets up an all-female soundclash between MTV favourite BYATA, HEDONIS DA AMAZON and electro queen PRINCESS SUPERSTAR for a Miami bass-style party joint; he presents his son, J-FLO on his debut recording alongside Def Jam MC LORDIKIM ALLAH and ALMIGHTY THOR on the raucous “I Got Sumtin’ To Say”; and Lost Boyz’ MR. CHEEKS teams up with old skool heroes GRANDMASTER CAZ of Cold Crush Brothers and TITO of Fearless Four swapping bars on “Can I Take You Higher”.

For all fans of his turntable work, Flash features two DJ tracks: “I have one called ‘Here Comes My DJ’ featuring DJ KOOL who barks out commands,” explains Flash. “Kool goes way back – he was by far the first to do that full volume party MC style. I also have a track with SUPERNAT called ‘Tribute To The Breakdancer’ which is a party break. It’s one for the floor and I read out a roll call of the real pioneers of the artform right at the start of the track. Some of those guys never get mentioned in the history books.”

“As well as making an album for hip hop fans, I want this release to set the record straight,” says Flash. “There’s still confusion about who I am and what I do. A lot of people still think that I’m an MC – I am a DJ and a producer. This album contains a lot of the elements from the many countries and cultures I have experienced from pop to underground, from alternative to mainstream.”

Grandmaster Flash is one of the undisputed pioneers of hip hop. He is recognized worldwide as the first DJ to make the turntables an instrument, famously developing his ‘Quick Mix Theory’ mix techniques during the ’70s which are now used by DJs the world over.

Through his fabled block parties and, later, live shows and releases with The Furious Five, Flash was responsible for recording the first live DJ mix to be committed to wax and for masterminding groundbreaking live sets that lifted the bar for hip hop. Through his work, hip hop was first taken seriously as a sustainable artform that could both pack a lyrical punch and pull audiences on a par with traditional mainstream rock and pop acts.

In June 2008, the autobiography ‘The Adventures Of Grandmaster Flash: My Life, My Beats’ was published by Random House, written by Flash himself and top author David Ritz. The book provides a valuable insight into Flash’s early years growing up in the Bronx and his personal experience at the advent of hip hop culture.

Flash was inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall Of Fame during 2007. He endorses and uses the Tractor Scratch digital vinyl system – “the analogue inventor has gone digital”.

The original tracks, recorded with Cash’s first band the Tennessee Two from 1956-1959, were pure and stark, with only the essentials; guitar, light percussion and Johnny Cash’s unmistakable voice and presence. The new mixes maintain this fantastic charm and personality while filing out the sound and creating daring re-interpretations.

The remixed tracks (and remixers) include “I Walk The Line” featuring Snoop Dogg (QDT, the new production team led by Snoop Dogg – featuring Snoop, Teddy Riley and DJ Quik), “Country Boy” (Sonny J, whose album was released in August on Astralwerks US), “Get Rhythm” (Philip Steir, the only remixer allowed to work with the Reprise Records Frank Sinatra collection), “Leave that Junk Alone” (Alabama 3, creators of The Sopranos theme song), “Folsom Prison Blues” (the legendary Pete Rock), “Hey Porter” (Mocean Worker, whose remix of Elvis Presley’s “Burnin’ Love” was used as a soundtrack to Honda’s Superbowl TV commercial), “Sugartime” (Kennedy, cornerstone of the new UK Dirty Pop movement), “Trail To Mexico” (indie favorite Mexican Institute of Sound/MIS), “Doin’ My Time” (The Heavy, critically-acclaimed UK-based band) and “Wide Open Road” (Count de Money) among others.

A documentary following the making will be included with the album, and was produced by Phear Creative in NYC. This short film features interviews from select remixers, filmed in their home studios, including Snoop Dogg captured at the Cash Recording Cabin in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Snoop Dogg has landed a guest spot on long-running US soap One Life To Live.

The rapper will appear as himself, as a surprise guest at a bachelorette party, across two episodes of the ABC programme to air on May 8 and 9, 2008.

He will sing new single “Sensual Seduction” and “Life Of Da Party” from his ninth studio album Ego Trippin’, as well as remix the show’s theme song.

The Doggy-styled theme will be used for Snoop’s two episodes.

“I’ve been a fan of One Life to Live since I was a baby,” said Snoop. “My momma always had it on the tube in tha crib growing up. The opportunity to change up the theme song and give it some of my flavor will make the show the Life of The Party.”

“After the appearance of our most recent music guest, Mary J. Blige, we heard that Snoop Dogg was a longtime fan of OLTL and wanted to redo our theme song,” said executive producer Frank Valentini. “We are thrilled that he will not only do a theme for us, but perform and act on the show. His tremendous talent reaches way beyond the music industry and we look forward to welcoming him to Llanview.”

Snoop’s new single, “Sensual Seduction”, is out March 24, 2008 and it boasts remixes by Fyre Dept. feat Robyn, among others.

The album, Ego Trippin‘, follows a week later on March 31st.

“Hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg has announced that he will host the Snoop Bowl, a youth football game to be held in Arizona the day before the Super Bowl.

The sixth annual game will feature the Snoop Dogg All-Stars, a California youth football team coached by Snoop Dogg, pitted against local Arizona youth football players.

Football legends including Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart will be on-hand, with all proceeds going toward his charity, the Matt Leinart Foundation, which supports disadvantage youth through learning centres, sports activities and granting wishes.

“The Snoop Bowl gives the kids a reason to work and play hard throughout the season, knowing that it all culminates on this day,” Snoop Dogg said in a statement. “It is about so much more than the game, the Snoop Youth Football League gives kids hope and meaning outside of just the sport.”

The Snoop Bowl is set to take place February 2, 2008 at Hamilton High School in Chandler, Arizona.”

Shizzle da rizzle, tha Doggfather is back with his ninth studio album Ego Trippin’, set for UK release on March 31, 2008 (March 11 – US). “Sensual Seduction” is set to be the first UK single release from the album and with its smooth, disco groove is a mere taster of what we can expect from the album.

“Sensual Seduction”, or if you’re over 18, “Sexual Erruption” sees Snoop flash back to a time when disco ruled, a time when a man could play a melodica keyboard in a three piece white suit and still go home with the all the ladies. On this track, the Dogg continues to do what he does best and push the boundaries of hip-hop, creating a smooth and as the title would suggest, seductive, disco tune with a video to match. And while Snoop stays firmly planted in disco he has enlisted the help of superstar UK house and garage producers, the Wideboys (aka Jim Sullivan & Eddie Craig) to work their magic on some amped up club remixes.

Ego Trippin’ is an album all about Snoop making the music he loves to make without worrying about pleasing anyone else. “I just don’t give a f**k right now and I’m gonna do me, ’cause that’s what I do best!” he explains.

Although still under wraps, it’s rumoured to include some 80’s influenced pop tracks; drawing inspiration from Prince, Rick James and George Clinton as well as groove-influenced R&B, and of course a good measure of the gangsta rap cuts that have made Snoop a hip hop icon.

If making music and films wasn’t enough, Snoop is also the star of the hugely successful reality TV show, ‘Snoop Dogg’s Fatherhood’ on E! where he shows a rare glimpse of his softer side and his family life. The show also includes some very special guests including our very own David Beckham.

“Sensual Seduction” is released on Polydor Records on March 24th, 2008 with the album Ego Trippin’ out March March 31 in the UK.
