However, there is limited availability for The Fratellis and an evening of comedy with Noel Fielding and more exciting acts.

The TCT gigs were the brainchild of The Who's Roger Daltrey CBE, patron of Teenage Cancer Trust, who has, over the last eight years, persuaded the best of British talent available across rock, pop and comedy to give up their time to raise money for this unique charity.

Each day in the UK, 6 teenagers will be diagnosed with cancer - that is over 2,000 diagnoses per year. TCT funds specialist teenage units in NHS hospitals, providing an environment where teenagers can get on with being teenagers, a positive environment expected to improve survival rates and ensure a better future for patients and their families.

The UK V Festival is set to take place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, Essex and Weston Park, Staffordshire, England on Saturday August 18th and Sunday August 19th 2007.

There are quite a few bands included in the V Festival lineup that have been making the rounds during the 2007 UK festival circuit like The Killers, Kasabian, Snow Patrol, The Fratellis, Babyshambles and The Kooks. Even with all of their appearances, though, the festivals keep selling out. It's good to see that live music is still selling tickets during these days of low CD sales.

Iggy and The Stooges are even going to be there - which should be one to watch after what happened at Glastonbury. I wonder if people will be invited on the stage for some chaos at the V Festival?

As always, it's great to see Guillemots included on the lineup. They're scheduled to play on the Channel 4 stage and The Coral - one of my new "bands to watch" is also playing on that stage but on opposite days. Foo Fighters I'm sure will put on a great show. Jet would be a cool band to see and Primal Scream and Happy Mondays fans will be treated as well.

Interesting to see Sinead O'Connor sandwiched in between Dizzee Rascal and Beverley Knight.

When I first heard Ray Lamontagne on the radio, the one thought that came to my mind was: Otis Redding. His voice has got soul and there are not many people on this planet that I would compare to Otis Redding.

Ray Lamontagne's latest single "Jolene" off of his debut album Trouble is set for release in the UK on May 7, 2007. (The single is not a cover of Dolly Parton's song "Jolene" by the way.)

Last year I watched Ray Lamontagne perform his single, "Trouble" live at the Top of the Pops studios in London. The other performances that day were by Muse, Guillemots, Ne-Yo, Busta Rhymes and The Fratellis. It was quite an eclectic mix of artists and it's certainly not every day that you get the chance to see them all together in the same place performing for an intimate studio audience.

Before the bands were due to go on, I remember seeing Ray walking around the Top of the Pops studio and also outside in the BBC courtyard area. There were a couple times that I wanted to go up to him to say hi and that I too am a New Englander who once lived in New Hampshire and spent summers in his home state of Maine. But a rumor was going around that he was shy and didn't like "being approached". I'm not sure if it's true or not, but because of it I didn't approach him. Oh well. Maybe another time.

Tight rhythm guitars, fun lyrics and a catchy melody with Paul Weller-like ba ba ba bas circling around the chorus. The single is scheduled for release on CD and 7" vinyl April 16, 2007.

The video for "See You At The Lights" was recently made Video of the Week on PlayLouder. It's a cute animated video that features band members Jackie McKeown, Michael McGaughrin and Jamie McMorrow, but I actually like the song better than the video, which is refreshing. There are a lot of bands out there who's videos are better than their songs which can be a bit of a hindrance - especially when the song comes on the radio without the video...

1990s are from Glasgow, Scotland and they are in great company. I'm not sure what exactly is going on in the water up there in Glasgow, but there have been some excellent bands that I've really been enjoying from the area like Franz Ferdinand (Members from Franz Ferdinand and 1990s were in the now disbanded Glasgow based band The Yummy Fur from the 90's), The Fratellis, The Dykeenies, The Hussys, Dieselbone (now defunct?) and Latonic. It's Glasgowmania!

Noting on their Myspace page as playing music "like a blonde gets out of a car", 1990s are signed to Rough Trade Records in London. Their debut album, Cookies is set for release in May 2007.
