Opening acts for the show will be Rain Phoenix's Papercranes supporting her new album ...]]> The Brooklyn-based Maine native has played every Tuesday this month at The Living Room in the Lower East Side on 154 Ludlow St. at 11 P.M. with a special show every week, “In Search of the Miraculous” featuring a handful of NYC’s finest musicians.

Luke Rathborne will be playing the final day of his month-long residency in New York City at The Living Room – Tuesday, August 25, 2009 with a special show featuring a diverse band at 11PM.

On September 11 2007, Low Altitude Records (the label that brought us Patrick Wolf and the Noisettes) is set to release Australian Sarah Blasko’s second album, ‘What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have’. Her sophomore release is a collection of bittersweet songs propelled by her ethereal voice and atmospheric production – a cavernous, haunting presentation recorded live in a converted ballroom.

The Living Room is located at 154 Ludlow Street. The band will perform at 8 PM. Sharing the stage that night will be Hollywood actress and Rounder Records artist Minnie Driver, Emmy-award winning composer Randy Lee and California’s Jukebox Junkies.

The Living Room set will be a great opportunity to see the band in a stripped down setting – where their musicianship and songwriting comes to the fore.

It was only a while back that Second Dan gained national visibility in Australia when their debut EP ‘Running Out of Feelings’ achieved award-winning airplay on Triple J’s “Unearthed” a known rocket boom for a number of Australian acts such as the Grates, Silverchair and Jet. ‘Running Out of Feelings,’ along with the follow-up single, “Everything Is Good” were both in heavy rotation for over two months with regular National radio play. The band toured the country on festival bills with The White Stripes, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and The Vines.

The band spent the past year in NYC plotting steps toward breaking the world’s biggest music market. They returned to the studio to record their first full-length album, ‘Bringing Down Goliath’. They also built a passionate following in the region as the live stage is Second Dan’s first home. They have been regularly playing headlining shows at Mercury Lounge and Arlene’s Grocery along with supporting bills at venues like Irving Plaza.
