Leicestershire four-piece Kyte will release their debut full-length album, Dead Waves, on 19 April, 2010 through KIDS Records; the label that launched The Wombats, The Whip and Band of Horses.

Dead Waves follows Kyte's self-titled mini-album and highly acclaimed EP, Two Stars, Two Sparks (released December 2008). The album will be preceded by the release of a single, "ihnfsa", on 12 April.

FREE Download: "Like She Said" Mp3

NME went on to predict that "Kyte will steal your heart", and they've returned to do just that.

On Dead Waves, Kyte's ever-atmospheric, dreamy soundscapes come coupled with big pop sensibilities.

First single "ihnfsa" is symphonic, lush and melancholic; an exemplum of the band's newfound focus. "Smoke Saves Lives", meanwhile, is an enormous-sounding explosion of big choruses, driven by a simple yet hypnotic piano line.

Kyte's debut works precisely because of this contrast with the album's more far-reaching musical efforts: the epic "Each Life Critical", for instance, sounds like Sigur Rós soundtracking Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Such huge sounds need the lyrical content to match, on which Nick Moon duly delivers ("painful nerves are turning, sleepless, searching, back in time, hallucinate the love").

Though Dead Waves is their first proper long-player, Kyte have made impressively large strides for a new act. They built up a strong following in both the indie and dance press, thanks in part to supporting slots with the likes of The Whip, School of Seven Bells, iLiKETRAiNS and Iceland's Ólafur Arnalds. In the US, their track "Boundaries" was used on a nationally-aired advert for HBO's The Sopranos.

The band can also boast of quite remarkable success in Japan, following the release of their Japan-only album Science For The Living. This saw them chart at No. 5, and debut one place higher than U2.

2010 will see this particular Kyte fly even higher.

Out of the bedroom and onto the stage, Red Bull Bedroom Jam is proud to be creating the Liverpool Sound City's only venue for 2008 that will be open to under 18's. Expect to see some of the UK's most talented young bands from both the Red Bull Bedroom Jam network and the Liverpool Sound City's esteemed roster.

The venue will be Heebie Jeebies on Seel Street in Liverpool and will feature 7 bands Friday, 30th May 2008 from 3-9pm. The line up will include The Wombats, Dykeenies, Cheeky Cheeky and the Nosebleeds and many more.

The event if free to all those under 18's. For those under 18 and unable to get Liverpool Sound City tickets Red Bull will be running a special guest list for access to the Red Bull Bedroom Jam venue.

Details on how to apply for the guest list are available on:

Red Bull Bedroom Jam

Red Bull Bedroom Jam (http://www.redbullbedroomjam.co.uk) allows young bands and musicians, who would otherwise struggle to get an outlet for their music due to venue age restrictions, to upload their videos and have the opportunity to have one of their gigs livestreamed across the Internet, helping them gather that all important fan base. Red Bull Bedroom Jam launched in September 2007 with a live gig online by Kerrang award nominees, youmeatsix. This has been followed by several performances from other young bands (Furthest Drive Home, Linchpin, The Press, Area 15, Saving Aimee, Lyrikal Squad, Lil Rascals and Maverik), from around the UK. In 2008 it is growing to host 3 series of 8 shows, and of course grow from the bedroom to the world.
