Audioporn – The Best band you haven’t yet heard of

Audioporn – The Watershed, Wimbledon
If you are off to Glastonbury this year, you are in for a real treat. If you do nothing else, you must check out this band, who are just awesome.
Attending an Audioporn gig is like no other that you will have been to. At present they are promoting their current album “A Message from our Sponsor” which collectively spins a lyrical tale from start to finish of modern day culture that will have us all reflecting on the world we live in. If you have had enough of X-Factor, boy bands, politicians and commercialism, then this is the band for you. This band rock with a capital R.
Influences are readily taken from Talking Heads, Frank Zappa, The Clash, Bootsy Collins, Kraftwerk, Clockwork Orange and David Bowie and thrown into a mixing bowl with a heavy helping of whit, cynicism and style to reveal the delicious cocktail which is Audioporn.
Their gig on Friday saw hardened fans and newcomers alike gather like moths to a lantern and were not disappointed. A slick and theatrical performance was given by lead singer and guitarist Ade Man with lyrics and guitar playing which will hold you mesmerised. Unlike most bands, centre stage is held by Deep Pete, who from his lofty height threw down Thor like bass lines. The groove is held tightly in place by Che Man, a drummer who’s skill is reminiscent of the great Keith Moon, with the all important keyboards held down by Lucy 9mm providing atmosphere and mood to complete the package.
The finale showcased a new track from the bands forthcoming album which left the audience wishing away their summer in the hope of an Autumn release.
Go and see this band. You will not be disappointed.
Ian Cognito.

At some stage the wider world will realise what it is missing and turn en masse to Audioporn. Get in on the ground floor while you can, there is a chance to be part of some really very special here. Wit, musical talent, intelligence and showmanship in one very special package. See you there…
Chris has a point too, except mine is a pint of wine – thanks!

Audioporn are absolutely awesome. The best live band around today. In fact the best band I’ve seen in many years. I shall be drinking my pints quickly urged on by Deep Pete’s hypnotic bass and Che’s driving rhythms only pausing for contemplation through the respites offered by Lucy 9mm’s enchanting melodies, engrossed in the surreal world created by Ade’s inspired words and wonderful vocals. When these guys(and gal) hit the big time it will be nice to look back and say I was there at the beginning.

What is it all about thats what I want to know. I went in straight and came out gay. Then I saw Audioporn and came out Bi. I went to my doctor and he said that it is only music and all in my head and that I am putting to much importance onto a few tunes. All I know is that I have been touched!
Love you Audioporn people, whichever way you or I swing.
Swing, ” this is forever”

Hello, I’m part of the gang too!
I have been playing Audioporn on the radio for 18 months. Intially, Crumpet Radio consisted of resurecting tunes from the 40’s as a rejection of the modern world. Then, I saw a DVD of a live performance of Audioporn. I have played them every week bar two since. (I wanted to wean myself off the addiction but no matter how hard I tried…).
Before we had an FM licence I played all of Tank on one programme but with the FM licence I have to be careful of the naughty words. Since I have Adobe Audition that’s no problem I can doctor albums to make them OfCom friendly and did indeed play both albums on a pre-recorded Christmas Porn Bonanza.
If you’re interested tune in to http://www.icrfm.co.uk between 11.30am and 1.00pm on Mondays.
I hope to meet you all at Gig In The Park Halesworth Suffolk on Friday 1st August 2008 – Currently the only stage befitting the greatness of probably the best band in the world!
With much love (and relief that I’m not on my own) Crumpet Claire xxx

The very first year that the DamGayBar was created by BigGayBow and myself at Gig In The Park 2005, we worked so hard that it was not until the Sunday afternoon that I finally managed to escape the Back Stage area… I wandered out to the arena into a sea of faces that were enjoying the day and suddenly this band just started playing what I now know was the latest rendition of TANK! The sun shone, I stood mesmerised, and AUDIOPORN played…
All the effort, tears, blood and sweat was worth it. Two years later (GITP 2007) the DamGayBar was used as a dressing room by this mighty collective and I still reel with the honour. If you feel that society is going down the tubes and nobody around you seems to understand then check these guys out. They don’t mess about, they spell it out clearly and somehow manage to make it bearable.
I now know that I am not ALONE.
If you’ve got half a brain in your head, you will not be disappointed by this Band.
Come to Gig In The Park, Halesworth, Suffolk. On Friday 1st August and see this supreme band at a gig that loves & understands them.
U2 will not be disappointed.
I think I may have “walked into the light” that day at GITP…
Much Love & Hope,
