Kelle Jolly and Will Boyd to perform at Muroran Jazz Cruise in Muroran, Japan

Knoxville vocalist, Kelle Jolly, and saxophonist, Will Boyd, have been selected by the Muroran Club of Knoxville and its sister city partner to perform at the 8th annual Muroran Jazz Cruise in Muroran, Japan on Saturday, August 23rd, 2008. Each year, Knoxville musicians participate in this musical and educational exchange that strengthens the relationship between the two sister cities. But this is the first exchange that involves a wedding ceremony.

This will be Kelle and Will’s second trip to perform at the festival. They were there last in 2006. Getting the opportunity to perform in Japan was a goal they both shared. Kelle feels that, “Japan reminds us to live our dreams. Being able to share what you love with whom you love is a great blessing, whether it’s between two cities or two people.”

The 2006 performance consisted of a duo performance and a combo performance with a group 13yr old jazz students from Sapporo. This year’s performance will include some of the same students.

Musicians who participate in this exchange are financially responsible for their trip. However, a stipend is awarded at the festival that covers some expenses. Donations towards the trip would be greatly appreciated.

Jolly Boy Entertainment is a music entertainment company that offers the services of Kelle Jolly and Will Boyd for public and private events where Jazz, Blues and Soul music is requested.
