had a short and to the point bio up here but it was, factual and dry as hell. so now i have this. which leads me to think that i should just stop here, so... i'll just keep writing. i was born and raised in Texas. i began my musical maschosim as a classically-trained oboeist. After moving to Navasota, the official Blues Capital of Texas and home of Mance Libscomb i got my hands on my uncles 57 Les Paul Special and at 16 began to cut my teeth on the Texas dance/club cover band circuit. Some of my cover band stints were featured on MTV and opened for national acts including Tony Talivor and Asleep at the Wheel. i gave Eric Johnson a guitar lesson at an impromtu jam session in Austin and got to hang out with guitar legend Grady Martin. The following week Grady Martin was featured in Guitar Player magazine. should of got his autograph... i have had the privilege of working with Phillips Craig and Dean, Mikaila, Ted Pearce, Big Methuselah, Dorthy Norwood, Rohn Bailey, and Cynthia Green of The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. i shared guitar duties with Andy Timmons on Big Methuselahs record Human Sacrifice which secured the band a slot on 7 balls Unsigned Artist who Rock. 7 balls artist roster also included then unknown indie artists Mercy Me and Pillar. In 2002 i built a home studio and began experimenting with ambient,electronica, and Latin music. The result was my 2007 EP, Home. i'm currently signed to Humble Cry, which is very cool, i have free reign to create whatever music i like. what else about me...i make records and occasionally play concerts. thanks for reading. - mario
