This is not unexpected, as Imre spazzed out during recording session. Both the lead guitarist and bass guitarist left Monday night, July 14, 2008 after Imre was working out some vocal parts for the upcoming cd/dvd release for November 15, 2008.

Apparently later in the evening, Imre was singing the verses while laying on the floor by the piano. He was singing, then he got up and walked out the door down the hall while still singing and grasping the microphone. Something was really strange. After Imre didn’t return, the engineer looked outside and behind the studio in the field was Imre still singing and holding the microphone. The engineer tried tugging the microphone cord, but he was scared. The engineer went on to say “I wasn’t sure what to do, I didn’t know if he was a sane man.”

I asked the engineer how he thought the upcoming release was coming along. He said, “it’s coming along, slowly but really good. There’s so much different stuff, each song is like a movie, really interesting project to be working on.

Keep a watch on this band, they’re incredible…and I mean it!

OK. Originally the plan was to release this album last summer but not all plans are built with cement foundations. But now the cement has been poured and the release of Tim Young Band’s ‘The Cost’ is about to happen right around the 4th of July. OK it’s still not an exact date but early July 2008 is really the real deal!

The Cost is thirteen tunes that are constructed to last. One play will never be enough. These are the rock/pop tunes that radio used to deliver into the car radio and then the car would begin to move faster and the volume would be turned up and the people in the car would all feel all right. Really.

Produced by Mark Meisel and Bob Becker of Detroit’s Counter Clockwise Music, these guys have a knack for being able to bring all the good stuff in a tune to the top where it belongs. It took over a year to reach this point of completion but the smiles seen all around are so worth it.

The Cost is the third release by New York City’s Tim Young. Filling out the band is New York native Sand Edwards on drums. Tim and Sand play all the dives on 9th avenue in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan. On this release producer Mark Meisel added electric guitar and keyboards. Also Rick Becker on electric guitar on the final track, ‘Renegade,’ which also appeared originally on Tim’s sophomore release, Red in 2005.

Dave Davis of Sound Images in Cincinnati, Ohio mastered The Cost.

The Cost will be available at CD Baby and at timrocksweb.com which is the official website of Tim Young Band.

More information will be posted here as the release date nears.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
In October of 2005, a very fine musician from Germany ( Gunnar Spardel of Tigerforest ) caught Amethyste’s attention. One of his wonderful song “Summer Rain” was playing on the player and she HAD to click on the “view” button. Suddenly, she was transported into a new dimension where music has a soul and feelings. A place where she secretly wanted to reach for so long… She was compelled to write him a note telling him how wonderful and beautiful his music was. He replied to her later that day that he really liked her voice and if she was interested into collaborating musically to please let him know. She was mostly surprised that he replied to her kind message because she felt that his compositions were just so spectacular, somewhat intimidating at the same time.

It seems that everything took an uplifting turn in 2006 when Gunnar and Amethyste started to collaborate more extensively on several projects ranging from Trance – Dance to Ambient. They finally decided to meet in February of 2006 in NYC, then shortly after their first meeting, Gunnar came to spend 3 months in the USA focusing on music composition and production. Their love for each other fueled the creation of Amethyste’s debut CD titled “Ethereal”. Gunnar’s extreme composing ability really showcases Amethyste’s soothing and dreamy ample vocal range. The beautiful music that Amethyste and Gunnar Spardel create have been heard in radio stations in Europe as well as many internet radios. Ethereal warms the heart and shines light upon their acclaimed and distinctive style of music.

MUSIC QUOTES
Delicate and sublime with a stirring of ecstasy dancing over a driving powerful intoxication is what you will find if you listen to Amethyste’s masterpiece – “Ethereal“. If you listen to the album from start to finish you will first encounter silky washes of sound with ethereal vocals. Floating on air is the feeling that Amethyste creates as soulful and ethereal voices of the mysteries above and below soar across an ocean of stars into a celestial downtempo mood. “Ethereal” goes beyond inspiration to new levels of creativity where modern technology and ancient longings collide. At times it is crystalline perfection and at others the warm sounds completely surround you enveloping you in a dreamy haze. Behind the scene of “Ethereal” is also the magnificent composer Gunnar Spardel, who lays down a set of deep ambient beats that creates a tantalizing ebb and flow of exotic sexy moods as a magical calm is unveiled by a journey within the smooth grooves. Amethyste is one of the most profound influences over mainstream Chill out artists, through a new, innovative artistic panache.

I recently became involved with an interesting approach to creating a record label. I guess you would call it “niche” marketing or “lifestyle affiliation” marketing.

A veteran producer and musician, Randy Rigby, first outlined this concept to me a little over six months ago. In short the idea was to create “soundtracks” for wine tasting and wine related events. One month ago the new label, Harvest Road Music, debuted with their first release, “Uncorked – The Sounds of Wine Country.”

For those of you reading this from outside our area that are not wine drinkers, it’s a BIG industry in California. As in nearly $55 billion a year.

Harvest Road Music is located in San Luis Obispo, CA which is in the heart of California’s third largest and fastest growing wine region. The entire county has a population of about 257,000 and our wine industry generated just under $3 billion in 2006!

When I moved to the area in the 1970’s there were two to three wineries in the area.Today there are something like 250!

With the wineries came more wine related events (Paso Robles Wine Festival, Hospice du Rhone, World of Pinot Noir, Zinfandel Festival, Roll Out the Barrels, Harvest Festival), more good restaurants, hotels and, thusly, more gigs for our local musicians.

My band, The Cliffnotes (I’m a “weekend warrior”) has tripled our booking just in the last year.

Bearing all this in mind, and the fact that from Washington to the Mexican border, there are approximately 10,000 wine tasting rooms, doesn’t The Sounds of Wine Country sound like a good idea to you?

It did to me. That’s how I became the label’s resident, “Marketing Genius.” The reaction to the first CD has been overwhelmingly positive and besides the tasting rooms signing up to have our counter top retail display, several of them want to make bulk purchases so they can use the CD as a premium for their wine club members.

We also get to discover and showcase new artists (like the stunning Nataly Lola on the Uncorked CD) and assist wineries and their related events with handling their live music bookings.

To top it off, how many times do you get to sell 10,000 copies in one fell swoop? I’m gonna have to make myself a new belt.

Stay tuned, I’ll use this blog-o-sphere for updates on the Harvest Road to Wine Country.

The Johnny Vance Band has consistently been one of the most well-known bands in the NorthEast as well as Cape Cod since 2005, but recently the group has gone through significant changes in their lineup.

Johnny Vance remains the face of the band as the lead singer. Les Kuipers is steadfast on lead guitar and Anthony DiNoia remains on drums, however, the band lost its bassist in December 2007. Their replacement is a familiar face to the group. Tracy Ferrie, the new bass player, alsoof Stryper fame, is a friend of Johnny Vance and his active, driving force has endeared him to all members of the group.

“Cape Cod” is like nothing else. “Every time we play here it becomes a memorable event” Johnny said. “And each time we play, we try and make the show bigger than the last.”

All band members are back on Cape and will open their 2008 season with a show at “Casino Wharf”, performing Saturday, 2/16 at 9:30 p.m. The performance is a milestone for the group because they will no longer be the Johnny Vance Band. The band will now perform as:

This is the first blog entry from James and it’s nice to be here. The following is my bio just to get started with. I will be posting some audio content soon but for now you can hear my work or contact me through the lovely websites at www.esromrecords.com or my own site www.jameshariman.com.

I first played the keyboards at the age of 10 and was soon dabbling with Korgs and Rolands. Later, when the first Korg arrived, I was commissioned to produce music for fashion shows, which lead me down the path of producing dance-orientated and non-vocal music. More recently I have been involved in a number of TV theme projects and the occasional DJ spot mixing well-known dance tracks with my own.

I have produced music for a variety of uses, drawing from an interest in a wide range of musical styles. My record collection and inspiration includes Groove Armada, Air, Royksopp, Lemon Jelly, Portishead and Django Reinhardt.
