Music industry experts come together to offer guidance in the 6 hour, 3 disc series.

Aneel Robinson is the man behind the “411″ DVD. As a performing artist on tour, other musicians asked how he succeeded in the music industry himself. Aneel did encounter obstacles getting his own career up and running, producing CDs and organizing national tours. His experiences, good and bad, led him to produce the DVD series over the past 2 years.

The “411″ DVD provides insider knowledge on the music industry, enabling artists to get their music heard. There are more self-made artists today than ever before, and the competition is fierce. This DVD series gives the emerging musician a leg up on the competition. The DVD series offers instruction on music distribution, retailing and airplay, marketing, copywriting and how to set up your own business. Listen to the music industry experts’ advice and practical suggestions including Music Distributors such as Derek Sivers, of CDBaby.com, and International Distributors such as D.J. John Dean in the UK.

Look for the “411″ DVD through music distributors such as Midwest Tape, www.filmbaby.com , and Aneel’s web site at www.411onmusic.com.

Included in the DVD package are 3 discs, each with over 2 instruction hours, a music industry database including more than 9,000 contacts, and over 50 articles on music industry topics. The DVD series retail price is $49.95. For the next month, it is available at a discounted price of $29.95.

Aneel Robinson, of Music 4 Da Soul Records, is the creator and director of the “411″ DVD Series. You may know him from the Gavin Charts and winning the ‘Best R&B Album’ at the NORTHWEST MUSIC AWARDS. He has also produced 3 other CDs, with sales over 50,000, under the same label. You can also find Aneel on UK Solar Radio, where he hosts “The Juice”, featuring only independent artists.

Cevin Soling, producer for the cult film ‘A Hole In The Head,’ will be on-hand for its virtual premiere screening in the MusicWorld3D virtual community on Thursday, March 27th, 2008 at 9:00 PM EST. Cevin will introduce the hour-long film about trepanation – the process of boring a hole in the skull – as well as take questions from host Rick Heid and avatar audience.

“I can think of many things that are commonplace today which I think are harder to justify than trepanation. Body piercing and tattooing are other forms of body mutilation, though we use the polite word ‘modification’. There is a psychological response that accompanies these acts for the people who have it done which is why they are drawn to them. The effect of trepanation might be a similar mechanism, or it may be physiological as well. Evidence of the latter would substantiate the procedure to a greater degree than the recreational forms of body alteration. Using drugs as a means to attain a state of consciousness has the drawbacks of being temporary and having side effects that either interfere with brain function or adversely affect health.”

The film won the Best Documentary Award at both Atlantic City Film Festival and Brooklyn International Film Festival, and was later broadcast on the Discovery and Learning Channels. ‘A Hole In The Head’ is now available on DVD at http://www.holeintheheadmovie.com

Newark, New Jersey – Tony Senatore’s introduction to music began when he was 5 years old when his father decided to start teaching him the trumpet and some basics of music theory. The young Senatore found he had perfect pitch and he progressed into teen years playing the trumpet. By the time he was 16 he discovered a lifelong friend, the bass.

Tony has gradually turned into a trailblazer for his instrument and in particular the 12 String Bass. He stands ready to make history in releasing the very first instructional DVD on the 12 String Bass with A 12-String Bass X-Ploration.

Senatore has been featured in Mike Varney’s Spotlight column in Guitar Player Magazine, recorded for Mr. Varney as a sideman on the 1991 Shrapnel Release entitled Midnight Drive, by virtuoso guitarist Stephen Ross, with special guests Joe Nevolo on Drums (Greg Howe, Mahogany Rush) and Jens Johanssen (Yngwie Malmsteen, Ronnie James Dio) on Keyboards. Other publications that Tony has appeared in include Down Beat Magazine, and an article by Jay Lustig for the Aquarian. He also has been the bassist at Visionary Sound Studios since 1993 and released a highly acclaimed solo album titled Holyland and most recently had the honor of being a featured as the Indie Spotlight on MuzikReviews.com. He currently is the bassist in the Genya Ravan Band.

A 12-String Bass X-Ploration features Tony Senatore (fretted and fretless 12 string bass guitars), Manolo Badrena (percussion), Van Romaine (drums), and special guest Percy Jones on fretless bass.

Since its inception in 1978, there has been very little information about the 12 string bass and Senatore has made his mission to change that. On the DVD Tony illustrates how the 12 string bass can be used as a lead instrument featuring it in three music videos-*Holyland*, “Life and Times And Times”, and “Shapla.” Each track shows the viewer different aspects and nuances of the instruments unique capabilities.

Tony has hopes that this groundbreaking DVD will shed light on some concepts that are important to him as an artist, but more importantly set the stage for realizing the full potential of the instrument through the DVD. More information A 12-String Bass X-Ploration can be found on Tony’s website along with some preview videos.

Ventura,CA – Following the great success of the DVD Elvis Presley…From Beginning To End, the Collector’s Edition Volume 2 has arrived. Elvis’s accomplishments as an entertainer have been well documented and they continue to be with an endless stream of music and live performances. Because of his popularity long after his death, new material is continually unearthed and created to fill the demand. Marshall Blonstein, president of Morada Music, the parent company of Tangiers Entertainment, and his creative team have put together a new and unique and never before seen perspective on Elvis.

The media unfortunately prefers to focus on sensationalism and all the negative things stars do. Elvis …A Generous Heart focuses on the King’s charity to organizations, friends, and total strangers. Everyone knows that Elvis was the most successful entertainer in the world. We have heard of all the riches he attained because of that success. Little has been reported about what a great man he was and the way he freely shared his wealth, his “generous heart”. Elvis loved to make people happy; he gave hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations, jewelry and cars away just to see people light up.

This revealing DVD takes you through the history of Elvis from being a poor sharecropper’s son with little more than basic daily subsistence to the most beloved, wealthy and famous entertainer in the world. Even though he reached such great heights, he remained a humble country boy always ready to share his love and treasures with friends, family, and even complete strangers. There are many reasons the world mourned his death back in 1977 and it was more than for the joy he brought to people in live performances, movies and recorded music. Many of the unknown events include the legendary Aloha From Hawaii concert in 1973 that raised more than $75,000 for cancer research and in 1964 Elvis purchased the FDR presidential yacht and donated it to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, who in turn raised $55,000 for research upon its sale. People who were the closest to Elvis do in depth interviews on the DVD to tell some now celebrated and new stories of his generous heart.

Elvis Presley…A Generous Heart is a wonderful tribute to an artist that recorded timeless music that remains as popular today as when it was released. His stature as performer on stage, in the studio and in films remains unrivaled. Thanks to this DVD so does the man’s generous heart.

The name Tony Senatore is not a household name when it comes to bass players. Chris Squire, Tony Levin and Jack Bruce are not mentioned in the same breath but I must say after hearing Tony’s music and watching his new DVD A 12-String Bass X-Ploration, that I am convinced; he could play right alongside those legends. Tony is a very humble man and he knows his instrument. He knows it so well that he decided to share his love and respect with his instrument by recording an instructional DVD for those that want to learn more about the bass that was born in 1978. Even if you do not play the bass, there is plenty of enjoyment on this DVD visually and aurally.

Very little information has been available about the 12-String Bass, all of that has changed thanks to Senatore. The instrument is versatile enough to serve as a bass and guitar. The upper strings are your traditional bass strings tuned as such and each string in between are the lower keys, the one’s that sound like a guitar. Tony demonstrated this on his studio recording Holyland (2005) beautifully. Some of the tracks off that album shows Tony displaying how he played the instrument and then actually takes you through the tracks.

“Holyland,” shows how the bass is used in a supportive chordal role. “Life And Times” expands upon his concept of playing melody while still functioning as a bassist. “Shapla” is a nine-minute Beatles medley, which is the highlight of the DVD (and CD). Tony lays down a bed track of fretted 12 string bass that is the focal point- followed by a track of fretless 12 string bass, which duplicates various string and melody lines, and then comes a track of four string bass that ties together all the loose ends to complete the composition.

Manolo Badrena (percussion), Van Romaine (drums), and Percy Jones (fretless bass) join him for the video shoot. This provides a glimpse into the recording process and all the parts that make up each song in its entirety, with a focus on Tony’s technique and style of handling the 12-String Bass.

Tony hopes that this DVD will shed some light on concepts that are important to him but more importantly set the stage for realizing the full potential of this great instrument. Tony hopes that this DVD will shed some light on concepts that are important to him but more importantly set the stage for realizing the full potential of this great instrument. The DVD accomplishes what it intends to by giving you a better understanding and appreciation for a fascinating and underrated instrument.

The iconic rock group Heart took the stage at The Orpheum Theatre in front of a live audience to perform their spectacular debut album Dreamboat Annie in its entirety for the first time, for a DIRECTV special. The performance aired Mother’s Day 2007, and will be re-aired in conjunction with Shout! Factory’s release of a live DVD and CD of that concert in October 2007.

Dreamboat Annie is the first release in Shout! Factory’s new DVD/CD series “Legendary Albums Live™,” which will feature unforgettable bands performing their quintessential albums live, in sequence, and in their entirety. The artists will also perform songs by the musicians they were listening to at the time for inspiration, and give exclusive interviews. “Legendary Albums Live™” is a partnership between Shout! Factory and DIRECTV, and the recordings are produced by Shout! Factory-owned Blaze TV. DIRECTV will air these memorable performances, and they will subsequently be made available for purchase on DVD and CD through Shout! Factory.

Dreamboat Annie, released in 1976, was the foundation of Heart’s legacy and went on to sell over 3 million copies. Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, the creative spark behind Heart, wrote all of the songs on the album, including the hits “Crazy on You” and “Magic Man.” As part of the “Legendary Albums Live™” program, fans of the band will also be treated to rousing renditions of songs by The Who and Led Zeppelin, and an interview with the band in which they will put the album in historical context.

The Wilson sisters have continued making great albums and thrilling live audiences in the 31 years since Dreamboat Annie’s release. In September, Lead singer Ann Wilson, released her first-ever solo album Hope & Glory on Zoe/Rounder Records.
