Emerging singer-songwriter releases debut EP in the UK

Australian singer-songwriter Andrea Soler will celebrate the release of her much anticipated debut EP ‘Better in the Sunshine’ at Salterns Harbourside Hotel in Poole on Friday 2nd May, 2008.

Andrea Soler has been sponsored by Void Acoustics, the leading innovators in audio technology, to collaborate with legendary producer Alan ‘Big Al’ Hill in his studio ‘The Sonic Kitchen’. Big Al has worked with Jack DeJohnette, John Surman and The Baker Brothers among many others. This project is a highlight for him as he is especially excited about the originality of Andrea’s vocals, lyrics and her shining new talent.

Andrea draws upon her deep love of life and her travel experiences to create beautiful music. “I am always inspired by nature,” she says “and I often find myself writing songs whilst walking along the beach or in the forest.” The dreamy title song ‘Better in the Sunshine” was ironically written in Scotland last summer, due to the typical Scottish weather!

Since basing herself in the UK, this Aussie singer-songwriter has gained a steady following of British fans that enthusiastically love her uplifting and soulful tunes, her humour, insight and her sunny personality. Her passionate and honest performances are intimately shared through her natural charm and openhearted spontaneity.

Andrea and her band of talented local musicians, featuring Big Al on bass, will be performing her new songs at the EP launch party at Salterns Harbourside Hotel on Friday 2nd May, followed by a ‘Better in the Sunshine’ tour which will include gigs at the Larmer Tree Festival this summer.

The EP itself is a collection of heart warming tracks that capture the essence of Andrea’s music, whilst her live performances leave the soul uplifted and the heart warmed and enchanted.

The Studios of Dino Maddalone, M4 Recordings in Torrance, CA will be packed to capacity for the highly anticipated debut album event by London recording artist Kris Searle.
http://www.krissearle.com

About Kris Searle: “Sensitive and engaging,” is how BBC Radio describes British-born singer-songwriter Kris Searle’s music as UK audiences would like to claim the fast-rising talent as theirs alone, Kris is rapidly building a career that’s also attracting the interest of Los Angeles’ own music industry heavyweights. When asked about his amazing ability to communicate genuine emotion through his lyrics and melodious soulful vocals sung to pop and rock rhythms, Kris’ response is as insightful and poignant as his songs. “I see the audience in the same situations I’m singing about,” Searle says, “and I absolutely love this because I want to give people a universal experience, validating that what they feel is real, that someone else has been through the same thing.”

Charleston’s own The Fire Apes have been named the winner of Airspun’s September Alternative Rock AirGod competition. Every month, AirSpun.com features independent bands and artists from around the world in their AirGods new music polls. AirGods poll winners receive free radio showcases and other great opportunities such as inclusion in AirGods radio shows, podcasts, and more.

The Fire Apes continue to be a Powerpop/Indie group on the rise. Their original guitar-driven pop songs ring true with that affable sounds of pleasant 1960s jangle pop, and there’s often more behind those songs than what’s obvious.

Their current self-titled EP opens with “Hey Kate!”, a quintessential example of the perfect power pop song. The second track “If Things Don’t Look So Good Today”, whilst being slightly more mellow, has you hooked within seconds. “Only You Could Make Me Happy” returns to the more frenetic pace and just exudes great songmanship and sheer energy. The penultimate track “Killing Me From Inside”, opens like an homage to the Beatles’ “Strawberry Fields” and is an amazing track. “It’s Over” finishes off the EP with song writing that just shines.
