Playing together in various incarnations since 1998, Loughborogh’s The Wave Pictures look like being a ten-year overnight sensation.
With a Morrissey-like ability to combine the sublime and the ridiculous in one song, their apparent reticence to step into the public eye belies their musical and lyrical confidence.
The Wave Pictures are set to play at Madam JoJo’s in Soho, London Tuesday 19th August, 2008.
Plus support band.
With White Heat DJs Matty and Olly.

“… a sharp imaginative band … charming, witty pop songs shot through with Jonathan Richman’s gawky glee and Suede’s doomed provincial romanticism” - Ian Gittins, Guardian Gig Review
“The Wave Pictures combine sounds because they fit together rather than to serve a particular agenda … their lyrics are clever and witty without being annoying and smug … lots of emotive lyrical imagery” - Eddy Lawrence, Time Out
“Imagination, humour, melodies and chords, twangy basslines of beauty … they are a loveable band. The kind of band whose songs you put on all mixtapes, who you urge your friends to listen to” - Roku Distro fanzine
“… take-no-prisoners musical stylings … imaginative lyrical ideas I found mighty refreshing” - Nick Lowe
“Nothing short of splendid, resplendent and heartbreaking. The future is now!” - BSR Radio
