Having reconquered the charts and the hearts of the British public with 'The Liberty Of Norton Folgate', their first album in ten years, MADNESS have moved into the summer with a clutch of high profile festival performances and a new single from that album on 3rd August, 2009.
Identified as a highlight of an album that has been universally acclaimed as equal to, if not better, than such classics as "One Step Beyond" and "The Rise And Fall", "Sugar and Spice" 'is especially well wrought' (The Independent), 'irresistible' (The Sunday Express), 'a corker penned by pianist Mike Barson' (Daily Telegraph) and 'My Girl 2: The Divorce' (Q).

In short, classic Madness single writing and, as such, a worthy addition to a canon of songs stretching thirty years and etched into the history of popular music.
The return of MADNESS is undoubtedly one of the events of 2009. Having wowed the crowds at the Camden Crawl with a series of impromptu acoustic sets culminating in a full band set from an open top bus to thousands of fans in Inverness Street and a rapturously received album launch show in Norton Folgate itself, the seven progressed to the festivals.
Returning to Glastonbury two years after their secret show at Lost Vagueness closed the entire field, played a sunset slot on Sunday 28th June on the Pyramid Stage that was certain to be a highlight of the weekend, the band then became hosts at their 2009 Madstock at Victoria Park.
