Eric Hutchinson Will Tour Australia and New Zealand With Kelly Clarkson In 2010
VH1 "You Oughta Know" artist Eric Hutchinson is the highest ranking new artist on Media Base's Triple A Year End chart and one of only two new artists in the Top 10.
"Rock & Roll," the lead single from his full-length debut album, Sounds Like This, was #1 at Triple A radio last December - the only new artist with the honor.

In 2009, he scored two more hits at the format - the Top 5 "OK, It's Alright With Me" and his latest single, "Oh!," which is currently climbing at Triple A radio. "OK, It's Alright With Me" is now Top 40 at the Hot AC format.

Eric joins Gavin Rossdale, David Cook and Lady GaGa in the short list of new artists to have a second single chart at Hot AC in 2009.
Hutchinson just wrapped up a three-month North American tour with Kelly Clarkson. In early 2010, he will be opening for her on a series of dates in Australia and New Zealand, where earlier this year "Rock & Roll" went platinum and hit No. 1 at Pop radio. He has been touring non-stop since Sounds Like This entered Billboard's Heatseekers chart at No. 1 in September of 2007.
Released initially on his own label, Let's Break Records, then by Warner Bros. Records in 2008, Sounds Like This is now the second best-selling album on the Heatseekers chart. It has sold more than 145,000 copies and 550,000 singles. Sounds Like This Live 2, a digital EP featuring stripped-down versions of five songs from Sounds Like This, was released earlier this week.
Hutchinson has played over 400 shows in the past two years, mixing headlining tours with supporting stints for artists such as OneRepublic, Jason Mraz, Jack's Manniquin, G. Love & Special Sauce, Missy Higgins, Marie Digby and Blind Melon.
He has performed on "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and "The Bonnie Hunt Show."
Hutchinson has been praised by The Washington Post ("undeniably charismatic"), Boston Globe ("soulful"), popmatters.com ("refreshingly inventive"), USA Today ("a knack for hooks and melody") and numerous other outlets. He was named a Yahoo! "Who's Next" artist, "One To Watch" by MSN and "About to Pop" by AOL.
Eric has been picking his favorite ideas submitted in the "Inspire An Eric Hutchinson Song" contest and posting videos of the new songs on www.erichutchinson.com every Monday since November 30th. The final video in the series will be posted on Monday, December 21, 2009.
While spending the holidays in his hometown of Takoma Park, MD, he'll play a special acoustic show at an intimate venue he's played numerous times before - Jammin' Java in nearby Vienna, VA. Proceeds from the sold-out December 20th concert will go to the S.O.M.E. Soup Kitchen (http://www.some.org), which serves the homeless and extremely poor citizens of the District of Columbia.
