Infectious rockers Mayday Parade will herald the release of their major label debut Anywhere But Here with a nearly non-stop tour schedule. The annual nationwide charity "Take Action Tour", now in its ninth year, raises funds and awareness for youth involvement in charitable action.
Derek Sanders, vocalist for the band, says of his band's involvement with Take Action, "The great thing about the Take Action Tour is that it brings people together for a good cause! We're happy to be able to use our music in a positive way, and we are excited to tour with a bunch of great bands."
Anywhere But Here dropped everywhere on October 6th and was produced by David Bendeth (Paramore, All Time Low).
The New York Post's Maxine Sheen called the album "emotionally charged" and "vicariously thrilling," while AOL Music's "PopEater" blog declared, "Mayday Parade writes songs that bring out the addict in all of us. Their catchy pop vocals, slap-in-the-face lyrics and bright, uptempo melodies are enough to send you to rehab for OD'ing on their debut album."
The band's 2007 breakthrough debut 'A Lesson In Romantics' made a top 10 debut on Billboard's "Top Heatseekers" chart on its way to sales exceeding 100,000.
Mayday Parade has toured as headliners; on multi-artist bills such as the "Alternative Press Tour" with The Academy Is... and Set Your Goals as well as "Compromising of Integrity, Morality, and Principles in Exchange for Money Tour" alongside All Time Low and The Maine; and on such festival roadshows as the Vans Warped Tour and the UK's Give It A Name.
Mayday Parade is: Derek Sanders - vocals; Jeremy Lenzo - bass/vocals; Brooks Betts - guitar; Jake Bundrick - drums/vocals; Alex Garcia - guitar.
