Unreleased Andrew W.K. Track surges into Top 10 most viewed pages on Guardian.co.uk
For many, Andrew W.K. is a hedonistic rock monster whose bloody nose continues to stain the proverbial white shirt of those who would try to stop him from partying hard. But Andrew recently opened himself up with an exclusive MP3 release via The Guardian website, which quickly became one of the most viewed pages on the broadsheets entire website.
The track, entitled "My Destiny", was recorded by Andrew when he was aged just 17, and pre-dates even the earliest material released under the 'Andrew W.K.' moniker.
It is a fascinating, controversial and emotionally charged insight into the musical development of a man who would recently be voted the NME's 3rd most important rock star of the decade.
An absolute must hear for all fans.
The track, along with its raw lyrics and incredibly frank and honest back story can be viewed here:
Andrew W.K. Juvenile Restraining Order
These are exciting times for Andrew W.K. and there is much in the pipeline from this remarkable and multi-faceted performer. He will be the host of the Revolver Golden Gods Awards, along with co-host, Chris Jericho of WWE wrestling fame. The awards take place in Los Angeles to the gathered elite of the world of rock and metal, including Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Halford, Marilyn Manson, and will air on VH1 and VH1 Classic in late May, 2010. He'll also be working on filming a new series of his hit Cartoon Network show, 'Destroy Build Destroy'.
Musically, Andrew W.K. also continues to push the envelope. There was feverish anticipation for his recent live shows (his first with a full band in over five years) at the SXSW festival, yet these were just a warm up for a headlining stint on the prestigious WARPED TOUR, taking Andrew across the United States for all of the 40+ shows.
Plus, Andrew recently met chart bothering sensations, 3OH!3, at a Tennessee house party - there's buzz of a sonic collaboration.
The future looks bright for the man dressed in white!
