Introducing Beau and The Arrows
Debut 7" single "Fix" released on 4th April through Happy Release Records
"Fix" is the debut single by Beau and The Arrows. Balancing sparse post-punk dynamics with freshness and urgency, this is the sound of one of London's most exciting and inventive young bands.
The single is released on 7" vinyl from selected independent retailers on 4th April 2011.
Already heralded by Steve Lamacq on BBC 6Music, the band will release their forthcoming album 'Future Kicks' in August.
Narrating the insatiable feelings associated with new love, "Fix" is an expansive yet refined, lo-fi anthem. With a genuine innocence so rarely captured, the raw and honest qualities of Beau and The Arrows' debut single create a refreshing openness.
Starting as a solo project by singer and songwriter Beau Carter, from Woolwich, London, the band began to forge its unique sound after recruiting Jasmin Foley, whose delicate vocals lift the minimal, yet soaring soundscapes and perfectly complement Beau's own vocals.
Inspired by composer Thomas Newman and the solitary film works of director Alan Clarke, Beau Carter describes the band's sound as: "A collective of diverse ideas coming together and forming through the medium of music."
"We are all from a part of London that's surrounded by building blocks and burnt out cars. It is what it is, there's no hiding from that and our music is just a reflection of who we are and what we've become living in those surroundings. Taking good from bad, the music and the lyrics are a combination of raw, edgy, images and sounds seen through the eyes of our naive souls".
"Fix" is accompanied by the b-side "Calming Effects", a wistful and reflective track, once again showcasing the band's flair for crafting delicate and sincere songs.
"Fix" is available on 7" vinyl and digitally through all good online retailers on 4th April 2011.
