A Great Big Pile of Leaves has also announced the date for their record release show which will take place on October 23rd at the Knitting Factory in New York. It is all ages and will feature openers Ambassadors and The Tower & The Fool. A show with The Front Bottoms is scheduled for October 25th in Philadelphia. Described as a "whimsical, super-catchy, upbeat, foot-stomping, hand-clapping, sing-along good time," A Great Big Pile of Leaves self-released an album titled Have You Seen My Prefrontal Cortex? in 2010, that was eventually picked up by upstart label Sinking Ship Records. That record immediately caught the ears of indie music fans and tastemakers alike.
Since then the band has been busy supporting the likes of Hellogoodbye, Fake Problems, Appleseed Cast, Motion City Soundtrack, Say Anything, and Saves The Day.
Praise for A Great Big Pile of Leaves:
"One of the most enthralling, captivating releases of 2010…One of those albums that you can listen to dozens of times without ever settling on a favorite song, because they're all your favorite. It's one of those albums where you want to show it to the whole world, but you'll only show it to a select few friends because it's that good." - Absolutepunk.net
"They are good friends of mine, but I can say without bias that the integrity, emotion, and musicianship they posses is out of this world." - Jesse of Motion City Soundtrack
"A band that you probably haven't heard of, but definitely should." - Positive Exposure
