California Wives debut new video for "Purple" at 2012 MTV VMAs

Chicago new-wave quartet California Wives premiered their new video for "Purple" as a TV spot last week, during the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.

The band collaborated with Sharpie® to create a music video that showcased the work of hundreds of artists and fans of the Sharpie® medium and brand.

The single "Purple" was previously premiered with Paste, and is taken from the band's full length debut, Art History, out now on Vagrant.

California Wives will support the album on a nationwide tour this fall with Stars and Diamond Rings. Art History is currently streaming at AOL Spinner and Billboard, and the "mesmerizing" debut follows the band's 2010 Affair EP.
