Country singer/songwriter Kellie Coffey has a new video out for her latest release "I Would Die For That". The song is the first single off of Kellie Coffey's new album 'Walk On', released on the Duet label.

"I Would Die For That" is a song about a woman who desperately wants a child, and is unable to conceive. The lyrics in what could be perceived as a somewhat controversial song, have pulled at the heart strings of many women who can relate to the woman's story.

It's amazing to read all of the discussions and comments that have been added under Kellie Coffey's "I Would Die For That" YouTube video regarding the subjects of adoption, abortion and infertility. The song is clearly helping to bring people together who have experienced similar situations.

Kellie Coffey's voice on "I Would Die For That" sounds incredible and the production on the song is superb. It reminds me of old school country but mixed with 21st century brilliance.

It makes sense that Kellie Coffey has opened up for George Strait on his 2004 tour and has shared the stage with country artists Keith Urban, Brooks & Dunn, Montgomery Gentry, Trace Adkins, Winona Judd, Martina McBride, Lone Star, Alan Jackson and more. Her talent shines, and she'll be gaining a whole new fan base with the new single alone, and I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of the tracks off of her album, 'Walk On'.

The Academy of Country Music's Top New Female of 2003, Kellie Coffey, is back with a new independent album entitled 'Walk On.' The follow-up release to her debut album,'When You Lie Next to Me,' was produced by Wayne Kirkpatrick (Little Big Town) and features 12 tracks, 11 co-written by Kellie Coffey. The video for the first single, "I Would Die For That," is exploding on YouTube with over 75,000 hits in only four weeks.

'Walk On,' is the kind of deep introspective album that most artists aspire to make. "We wrote songs about our life experience and what moved us," Coffey said of her co-writers. "It was probably the purest creative experience of my life." The new album represents more than one dream come true; Coffey became pregnant and gave birth to her baby boy during the writing and recording of the album.

Kellie Coffey was inspired to write the powerful ballad "I Would Die For That," because of her own struggles with infertility. The video is garnering attention from around the globe as couples relate to her heartfelt, thought provoking lyrics and soaring vocals. "I've been humbled by the response and stories I've been told. This song is giving a voice to women and couples who are struggling to have a baby," said Coffey.

From the gospel tinged 'Walk On,' to the playful and humorous "Everything She Never Wanted," and "Bandwagon," the album mirrors Kellie's life. 'Walk On' is a soulful anthem for overcoming adversity. "Everything She Never Wanted" is a funny take on a driven career woman who finds that being a wife and mom, the things she never wanted to be, are what she really wanted to be all along.

"Bandwagon" takes a lighthearted look at the modern obsession of needing to be a part of the latest craze. From cellphones, to handbags, to designer coffees, to the latest diet, the lyrics make you laugh and think at the same time. With backing vocals by Dan Tyminski (Union Station, O Brother Where Art Thou) and a band made up of some of the best pickers in Nashville, this has the makings of an instant country classic.

The final cut on the album, "There You Go Again", was recorded in one take. Almost unheard of in an age of computer assisted recording. Right after Kellie and co-writer/producer Wayne Kirkpatrick finished writing the song, they decided to cut a quick piano vocal demo. Months later when they were preparing to cut the master track, they listened down to the "demo" and decided not to touch the vocal or piano track they recorded in the inspired moments after writing the song. They simply called Jonathan Yudkin, Nashville's premier fiddle player and violinist, to lay down a string quartet. The results are stunning.

Oklahoma native Kellie Coffey entered the country music scene in 2001 with her top 10 single, "When You Lie Next To Me," which remained on the chart for over a year. Her album of the same name entered the country sales chart at #5. She followed that with the top 15 single, "At the End Of The Day." Kellie Coffey toured with Kenny Chesney for over a year on his "Senoritas and Margaritas" tour and opened for George Strait on his 2004 tour. She received a Top New Country Female American Music Award nomination, and the ACM win in the same category. She has appeared on multiple ACM, CMA and CMT Shows.

'Walk On' is available online at www.kelliecoffey.com, CDBaby.com, Amazon.com, the iTunes Music Store and other download stores on the web.

Reba McEntire is set to release her latest album, Reba Duets on September 18th, 2007. The first single off of Reba Duets is "Because Of You", featuring Kelly Clarkson. "Because Of You" is currently #12 (July 20th 2007) on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.

It's good to hear Reba McEntire's voice again, as it's been awhile since I've heard her music. Duets seem to be the trend lately for singers 'of a certain age', and I'm sure Reba McEntire's new album will be a great success for her. It's amazing how many country music awards Reba McEntire has won over the years and I wouldn't be surprised if she wins another one for Reba Duets.

There's an exciting lineup of singers featured on the album that includes LeAnn Rimes, Rascal Flatts, Trisha Yearwood, Carol King, Vince Gill, Don Henley, Justin Timberlake and Kelly Clarkson with her hit song "Because Of You". The CD would be a great Christmas gift for anyone looking for ideas this early in the year.

One of the sexiest duets that I've ever seen is "Help Me Make It Through The Night" performed by Rita Coolidge and Kris Kristofferson in 1972. The first time I watched that performance was on The Old Grey Whistle Test DVD a couple years ago. Wow. If you want to see some serious chemistry, watch that video. Steamy.

I've always thought that just before (and/or after) that particular performance that 'something' must have been going on between them. I'm a singer and even I know that you can't fake that kind of chemistry up on stage.

Watch The Old Grey Whistle Test video of Rita Coolidge and Kris Kristofferson performing "Help Me Make It Through The Night"

It wasn't until recently that I found out that Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge married in 1973. That would make sense!

Of course there are other versions of "Help Me Make It Through The Night", which was written by Kris Kristofferson. Most people are probably familiar with the version by the late Sammi Smith from 1971. She's the one who made the song famous with a #1 country hit, and in turn became famous herself because of it.

Johnny Cash and June Carter also performed "Help Me Make It Through The Night".

Moving On, the third album from Chicago-based artist Jen Porter, showcases the singer's sultry, gutsy voice and ability to seamlessly blend rock and roll, blues and country-folk influences into a contemporary sound. Featuring a solid backing band, this collection of songs is polished, down-to-earth, and full of energy, the perfect soundtrack to a dinner party with friends or a night out on the town. Residents of Chicago can easily catch a live performance, as the hard-working Porter plays four to five shows a week around her hometown; for the rest of us, Moving On brings Porter's powerful vocals right to our living rooms.

The album gets started with "Along the Way", a pop-tinged blues anthem that quickly sets the stage for Porter's no-holds-barred vocals and fine piano work.. "Get Out", a driving ode to a former lover, calls to mind the intensity of Fiona Apple combined with the self-sufficient attitude of Alanis Morisette. Other tracks, such as "Aaron's Song" and "Brotherly Love" are softer both musically and lyrically, highlighting Porter's diverse talents as a singer-songwriter. Throughout the album, Porter's technical skill is apparent.

One of the strongest points of Moving On is its blues rock and country roots that sustain and clearly influence Porter's music. The song "Gracie" has a great classic-rock feel with piano work reminiscent of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama". The vocal styling of "Heaven to Me" evokes some of Bonnie Raitt's best work.

Jen Porter is clearly a seasoned and talented performer; Moving On adds another successful album to her already impressive resume. Judging by the rousing quality of this album, I'm sure Porter's live performances are soulful and energetic. Those with the opportunity to see her in Chicago should definitely do so; those not lucky enough to live in the windy city will be sure to put this album in regular rotation on their stereos.
