Multi-platinum Scottish-born Relentless/Virgin Records singer/songwriter KT Tunstall will return to the live U.S. stage this summer, with a month of dates scheduled, many of them with acclaimed Zoe/Rounder artist Martha Wainwright.

In this round of touring, Tunstall’s show will highlight the way her vibrant and versatile music “distinguish(es) herself from the herd by demonstrating a wealth of musical possibilities,” as a Boston Herald reviewer put it a few weeks ago.

KT Tunstall notes: “I’m very excited to be bringing my vintage electric guitars over to the U.S. for this month, and mixing the acoustic roots of Eye to the Telescope with the more complex driving sounds of Drastic Fantastic.”

Tunstall’s European and North American acoustic spring 2008 tour, dubbed “The Campfire Tour,” “was a huge success,” Tunstall says. “It taught me to enjoy the subtleties of the set as much as the pedal-to-the-metal foot-stompers.”

The Boston Globe agreed, praising “Tunstall’s easy way with a melody,” and noting that she had “no trouble getting comfy and generating warmth during a sweet and sassy 90-minute set.” The Boston Herald continued: the “Scottish firecracker(’s) unplugged set yielded marvelous results. Her four-piece band improvised ingeniously.”

Tunstall is set to perform on NBC’s Late Night with Conan O’Brien on July 15th, 2008, with American pop-soul icon Daryl Hall.

Discussing the pleasure and revelations of touring in the wake of her tremendous commercial breakthrough, Tunstall recently said: “my bar has been raised – I’ve realized what’s possible…touring (a first album) with a band, seeing how that album can turn into something else on stage, and how we can actually make it better…It’s always been about getting onstage and trying to do a mind-blowing show. And if you’re playing the same set night after night, that means playing around with it, and experimenting with what you’ve got. It’s not a CD, it’s a gig.”

KT Tunstall’s second Virgin/Relentless album, ‘Drastic Fantastic’, debuted on the Billboard Top 200 album chart at a career-high No. 9 last fall. The lead-off single, “Hold On,” was No. 1 in the AAA (adult alternative albums) radio format, and charted three months on the Hot AC listing.

First released in the U.K. late in 2004, Tunstall’s debut album, ‘Eye To the Telescope’, became a quintuple platinum smash in the British market, winning Tunstall the Brit Award and the prestigious Ivor Novello Award. It sold in excess of a million copies in the U.S. over an 83-week chart run. “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree” was nominated for the 2006 Best Female Pop Vocal Performance Grammy®, and along with “Suddenly I See,” charted a combined 70-plus weeks on the AC and Hot Adult Top 40 radio charts.

She is a founding figure in the launch of Global Cool, an environmental issues action group, and is also affiliated with The CarbonNeutral Company, partnering with CarbonNeutral in a dedicate-a-tree plan in her native Scotland to offset the carbon footprint of her own career.

KT Tunstall is to release a new single from her critically acclaimed album ‘Drastic Fantastic’ on March 3rd, 2008 through Relentless.

KT, winner of best female at the Brits 2006, has again been nominated in The Best Female category at The Brit Awards this year, and will follow up the release of new single, “If Only” with a full UK tour in April.

“If Only” is the third single to be released from ‘Drastic Fantastic’, and is undoubtedly one of the album’s strongest pop moments, effortlessly merging the strength of KT’s trademark vocals with sugar-coated backing vocals, a hook-laden chorus and bittersweet lyrics.

The CD and digital formats will be backed by KT’s cover of The Bangles’ “Walk Like An Egyptian” (recorded live at Liverpool Academy) and the 7″ vinyl will contain “The Prayer” by Bloc Party as it’s b-side (As covered by KT for Radio 1’s Live Lounge).

‘Drastic Fantastic’, KT’s follow up to her multi million selling debut, “Eye To The Telescope”, was a Top 3 hit on its UK release last September, and also entered the US Billboard chart in the top 10. Produced by Steve Osbourne, it’s an album full of powerful lyrics, bold colourful melodies and adventurous musicianship.

The fantastic KT Tunstall has announced two concerts as part of the Forestry Commission’s forest tour this Summer.

The past 3 years have been a hectic time for KT Tunstall as she has become established as a phenomenally successful artist both sides of the Atlantic. Her debut album ‘Eye To The Telescope’ has sold over 4 million copies to date including over 1.5 million in the UK alone.

Critical acclaim includes a Brit Award for Best British Female Solo Artist, The Ivor Novello Best Song award for writing “Suddenly I See” and a Q award for Track of the Year for “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree”. Cage The Elephant

I really can’t wait for 2008, as it will be the year that the world discovers Cage The Elephant. A five piece from Kentucky, the young quintet are residing in London for the next year or so. This year saw them tour with The Wombats, Foals, Queens Of The Stoneage and The Ravonettes. The band also released their first ever limited edition 7″ of double A side single “Free Love / Tiny Little Robots”. With amazing early support from Gigwise, Click Music, Clash Magazine, NME and everyone else that happens to see them live, CTE are surely the one to put your money on for 2008. Not since Kings of Leon / Foo Fighters / Rolling Stones have we seen a band like this. Lock up your daughters, for Cage The Elephant are loose! They return in 2008 with second single “In One Ear” which has already been getting a lot of Zane Lowe love.

Dawn Kinnard

A weird yet wonderful Pennsylvanian, Dawn Kinnard will be one of those surely to get into the Mercury Shortlist in 2008. With songwriting that breaks all current trends, Dawn is as original as she is incredible. With excellent live shows in London, Dawn picked up features from the Guardian Music online and Q4 Music along with that vital word of mouth ’secret for 2008′ vibe. Always surprising the audience with her guest performer for sublime track “Clear The Way”, Dawn recently was joined on stage by Cerys Mathews in London’s Soho Revue Bar. Dawn Kinnard’s debut single “Fortune Teller / Devils Flame” has already had Radio 1, 2 and 6Music spins and is due for release in January 2008 with the album ‘The Courtesy Fall’ set for an April 2008 release.

A Norwegian quartet with a front woman oozing enough cool kid charisma to match that of Karen O, Anna Lise can easily hold a room full of male music critics, and aspiring musicians in the palm of her hand – and in awe! Creating music that slips perfectly into the indie pop rock dance category, Harrys Gym music could be filled in between Bowie and Blonde.

Not much introduction needed for the Scottish lady with the shiny silver guitar. KT released her second album proper ‘Drastic Fantastic’ in September 2007, along with the two singles “Hold On” and “Saving My Face”. A total album chart resident, “Eye To The Telescope” set the bar for KT’s recent offering, and unsurprisingly, ‘Drastic Fantastic’ has also kept the standards high. KT will be back in 2008 with another single and a massive April UK tour.

Ben’s Brother

A five piece London band with the songs that will have you getting back in touch with your emotional side – Ben’s Brother’s music is powerful with emotive lyrical content. Having recently been forced to rush release their album in the US, the band are set to take the States by storm in 2008. Having had syncs in Greys Anatomy, the band’s new single “Stuttering, Kiss Me Again” was also used in a chewing Gum Commercial that sent the Myspace and YouTube hits through the roof! Their debut album ‘Beta Male Fairytales’ was released in July 2007 and the band will enter the new year in March 2008, with this new single.

Justin Nozuka

A Canadian singer songwriter that has all the young girls cutting off their arms for a piece of him, Justin Nozuka has surprisingly taken on this audience by default. Writing mature and complex old school R&B mixed with modern pop, Nozuka strums a guitar like an old time pro. At just nineteen, he has a long career ahead of him and this year will be the one to take notice of such a talent. Ready to properly release his album and concentrate on his music, Justin has just finally finished College.
