Hurricane Bells also has two headlining shows this month, September 18th at DC9 in Washington, DC, and September 25th at The Rock Shop in Brooklyn, NY.
Hurricane Bells' new EP Down Comes The Rain will be released on September 28th via frontman/band architect Steve Schiltz's own Invisible Brigades label.
As with the band's debut album Tonight Is The Ghost, Schiltz entirely wrote, recorded, played, and produced the EP himself.
Touring band mainstay Ashen Keilyn (of Scout) joins him on backing vocals on the five tracks, which includes two new songs, "The Waiting Song" and "The Deep End," in addition to three covers: "Make A Deal With The City" by East River Pipe; "Into The Ocean" by Blue October; and "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" by The Shirelles.
Down Comes The Rain has already been earning Hurricane Bells some early praise, with AlternativePress.com recently writing, "Two new songs - 'The Deep End' and 'The Waiting Song' - perfect his formula. The former rumbles sweetly like a long lost cousin of anything off the Cure's Disintegration; the latter wades in waves of shimmering guitars and pleading vocals...Schiltz's new songs shine with a bright sound and hopeful lyrics."
The Bill Moldt-directed video for "The Waiting Song" premiered last week on AOL Music's Spinner blog and can now be seen via YouTube and BandWeblogs.com as well.

A full stream of Down Comes The Rain can currently be found at www.hurricanebells.com, where the EP is also available for pre-order (in addition to the band's MySpace page). Fans will currently receive Ghost Stories, an EP of select songs from Tonight Is The Ghost remixed by Sammy James Jr. (The Mooney Suzuki) and Carlos Anthony Molina (Mercury Rev), among others, free with purchase as well as an immediate digital download of Down Comes The Rain.
