Nickels & Dimes-Blues Rock From Norway

Oslo, Norway–October 23, 2006– Steffen Nicolaisen (guitar & vocals), Arild Steinsrud (bass), and Nils H. Maehlum (drums) are Nickels & Dimes. The band formed in 1987 and in 2003, the original lineup reformed as Nickels & Dimes, then wrote and recorded their most recent and fourth album Midnight Overdrive.

This trio is a devout Hendrix worshipper and their music is a direct reflection of the love and respect they have for the late great guitar hero.

Right at the outset of the opening track “ 3 2 Get Ready” you hear a scream and instantly know you will be in for a ride. Nickels & Dimes will rock your soul with rousing tracks and “Trampoline” is one of their best. It is a personal tribute to the masters of the past. The track fires up three minutes and twenty-seven seconds of pure rockin’ blues-rock energy. This band has a good sense of humor too-“Rubber Man,” has a crazy acoustic slide backed with a locomotive rhythm section that never misses a step and lyrics that will surely bring a smile to your face. This is the blues, straight up with nothing else to wash it down.

Blues music is universal and once you hear Nickels & Dimes you will think that the boys came straight from the Texas heartland. This is proof positive that the power of the blues has a far-reaching influence. Nickels & Dimes is actively touring in support of Midnight Overdrive and you can visit their website for recent concert pictures, upcoming live dates, downloads, and order the CD from directly from their site or from CD Baby.
