The Edge Of The Eighties featuring New Order, Pretenders, Adam & The Ants

The Edge Of The Eighties

While the early 80's is now a quarter of a century ago: the style, the sounds, the fashion pioneered by the fringe artists of the 80's has never been so relevant to modern day life and music.

The Klaxons, CSS, New Young Pony Club, Calvin Harris are all artists who are heavily influenced by periphery 80s artists. Many a feel good album with the cheesy tunes of the 80s has been released but never something as razor sharp and stylish as 'The Edge Of The Eighties'.

Now for the first time Sony BMG is proud to announce the release of an 80's compilation with an 'edgier', fresher and cooler tracklisting. 'The Edge Of The Eighties' - highlighting some of the artists and tracks that may not be as familiar, but still defined the times, is set for UK release on 31st March, 2008.

Featuring fierce tracks from Ultravox "Vienna", Visage "Fade To Gray", New Order "Temptation", Pretenders "Talk Of The Town", The Associates "Party Fears Two", Propaganda "Duel", The Cure "The Walk" and Psychedelic Furs "Love My Way".

If that isn't enough this triple CD compilation also includes tracks from legends Adam & The Ants and superstar David Bowie. Many of these tracks have only previously been available on vinyl and now can all be found together on this excellent retrospective of the niche 80s bands that shaped a generation.
