Republic Nashville's The Band Perry recently played to a full house in Schenectady, NY, selling out WGNA's "Rising Star Concert Series" show at the 375-seat Proctor's Theatre. Proceeds from the show went to restoring that historic venue.

This is the second time this year that The Band Perry - siblings Kimberly, Neil and Reid Perry - have played to a sold-out crowd; their debut single "Hip To My Heart" is currently #20/#23 on the Mediabase/Billboard charts, respectively.

"The Band Perry was a thrill," said Tom Jacobsen, WGNA's program director. "They made a lot of friends in the Albany market and a lot of fans. One female listener actually said to Kimberly, 'Jennifer Nettles has got some serious competition with that voice you have.' A great show with a great new act - an act that has an unlimited upside."

Whoever told Kimberly Perry that Jennifer Nettles had some serious competition in Kim was right. "The Band Perry " is coming along at the right time with a new, fresh sound I think everyone is going to like.
